The #67 VE should be in Adelaide... there are still a couple of weeks to go till Adelaide... and a test session or two to complete..
Likely better to bring the new design to the public on the second car (Mr Coulthard's) than nothing at all... I mean their sponsor is trying to sell wine after all..... so any publicity they can generate, even if its not the final car makes sense. No worse probably that Jason Bright launching his new paintwork yesterday with a showcar... |

TEGA/VESA is producing a media guide this year with all of the teams and their liveries aboard... it is a requirement of that process that a car be made available for photographing for inclusion in that document... so the #67 and #39 cars needed to be photographed to meet that requirement.
Hopefully the #39 car will have something to differentiate it from the lead car, something like last year where there was a different bonnet design with different branding. |

As usual, PMM has shows no signs of being creative. It almost looks like a Taxi...! If that bonnet was purple, he'd be getting hailed from fans looking for a cab home!!!
I thought Alan Gurr was meant to be a Graphic Designer. I know he's left the team now but even when he was there the liveries were utter garbage! |

It saves money when he dings it up...just paint the replacement panels one colour and slap on some sponsor stickers...makes sense.

It's okay to do one colour and stickers, the side of the HRT cars in 2005, Jack Daniel's is the same but at leat there's has some semblance of "livery". |

The white lettering and black background is the brand of Sirromet, its how the wine bottle labels appear.. with both a predominantly black or predominantly white body. So it makes sense to have the cars in white... as it seems to make the "Sirromet" brand stand out better against the white background instead of the black one. The aim of a livery should be to highlight the main brand, not hide it. The Toll paintwork looks nice when standing still, but it is still hard to see at speed, and hard not to confuse it with the surprisingly similar Tasman entry. The Jack Daniels cars were virtually identical to the PMM cars last year, more than once the commentators picked the wrong car when talking about them... Unfortunately when a design looks fantastic in the flesh, it doesnt always look that way at speed, or with cameras trained on it from a few hundred metres away. The prettiest cars have been some of the simplest designs over the years, like the Brock Sierras, Brock Commodores... when you try to cram a dozen messages and designs onto the one car, something gets elevated something gets hidden... And if the blokes on the teev get the car right every now and again because they can distinguish it properly from everyone else, then the sponsors improve their exposure at the same time... the aim of the game after all No po |

Exactly GTR, White is the worst marketing colour, as to the human eye it is the least recognisable. So whatever else is on the car is going to stand out a heck of a lot more than the actual colour of the car (ie sponsors).
Red and Blue are in fact the easiest colours to see in day and night (hence why emergency vehicles use them). |

With white on black all the logos are consistent, not this multi coloured on white mess. |

well its not super outstanding , but I like the simplicity of it.
Hopefully for Coulthard and Morris they will be more competitive in 07 |

PMM have struggled for a few years it would be good to see them at the pointy end but paint wont make that happen what you need is a top of the range powerplant and all last year the PMM cars were always sounding rough on the corner exits the chassis was working fine but no corelation with the power curve .
Is it correct that the chassis guru Ceprenik is now working as a private consultant. |
