Roar before the Rolex 24
So many stories coming out off the back of the Roar entry list. Lots of interesting driver/team partnerships.

Hm... the Canucks here may find the lineup in the #64 Scuderia Corsa Ferrari interesting. Rod Randall I don't know, but Farano is a Toronto-based Ferrari Challenge and occasional NASCAR Canadian Tire Series competitor - not so very fast though - and of course Empringham and Wilden are long-term veterans.

I really do envy America this season!
You guys are in for a real treat! Imsa racing back at its best! I'm just really happy that it's all back together over there and should be an awesome season, I just wish there was tv coverage In the UK! We can't complain with blancpain gt enduro but gone are the days of the fia gt championship, and the wec just isn't as competative/doesn't have as many cars as when it was the elms.....the Audi procession is just boring now.....maybe porsche will spice it back up a bit but I just wish they could equalise the rules properly to make diesel and petrol equal, or just make it all petrol.....we need the USC over in Europe! |

The entry list is impressive in all classes. Now TUSC has clearly the best GT field in the world.

Liddell in at Corvette ..... good solid hand , but I don't know if he is really quick ?
No Cosmo on the entry list . Thought he would be with ESM again ? I just hope to Jesus they got the performance balance worked out or we will hear the screams in Europe ..... but it looks like a killer of a field . |

I was wondering if L5 would retain him, after finishing up there, but not so far. |

Teams had to qualify for a place on the grid, ie, the field was oversubscribed, and they turned teams away based on qualifying performance.
Sort of like how the LM test day used to be called "pre-qualifying" and that was used to whittle down the field to the 48 official "qualifiers", with the remainder being turned away or put on a reserve list. |

So I wonder if anything is going to come about that Nissan gtr? There hasn't been any announcements, just the pics from silverstone.will it race daytona if not at the roar, could that gtr be intended for somewhere else?
Also what about the corvette c7r, is it still going to be in its camo wrap or is the roar going to be its official unveiling? I thought I read somewhere it was going to be unveiled at an auto show? |

When was this? What has changed? As previously mentioned, in the 80s, 70-80 cars started the race.I thought this year there is going to be a cap of 60 starters for each race which was not in place previously.

Even without grid limits there were safety issues - there was the 105% rule and sufficient laps in night practice (remember it used to be dark). Once it became light and the sanctioning body got desperate for numbers that all went away. Now there is a number cap but I bet it gets fudged if there's only a couple of extras, especially at Daytona which has the space. |

I wonder if that Porsche hauler is the Porsche customer support truck or core/pmna's hauler? These next few days are going to be very exciting, I can't wait! |

Did the TUSCC figure out in the meantime that sportscar racing is a global endeavour and thus it'd be worthwile to broadcast moving pictures of their events on a medium that's globally receptible?

I'd settle for just sound. Of course, MRN is rebroadcasting a NASCAR race from 1971 at the moment. I miss the RLM crew.

That Park Place livery looks absolutely fantastic! Much better than last year!
Minimalist, yet very striking. |

Must be the Muscle Milk car, unless it was the OAK car before the cover was taken off or Delta-ADR filed a surprise Roar entry with their Oreca 03
