A little about you..

Just thought i would start this thread so we all get to know each other and what each other race a little better. So....title kind of sais it all really!

Whats your class?
Chassis?
Championship?
Opinions?

Also, who in your championship (past or present) who you have raced against maybe when you were a Novice did you most admire and think you really wanted to be like and why?

Class:Rotax light

Chassis:CRG maximo

Championship:Wollongong Kart Racing Club

opinions:If i could race everyday i would but then go broke.

I admire a driver in my class because of his raw speed and his ability to setup a kart. His speed is so impressive that it almost rivals the times ICC karts do.Very impressive.

Whats your class? Rotax 125 Pro, Light if i race away from my club

Chassis? Ex Simon Leech Arrow AX8

Championship? Geelong Kart Club

Opinions? Well i have been away from Sprint karting for 9 years, lol, but i must say i am enjoying the return, and 4th on debut in a feild of 13 was encouraging .

Incidently Dubby, whats Wollongong like these days, i last raced there in 1992, it was a short but fun track back then

I am not sure what it was like there back in 92 but i think since then they have added 2 corners around where the club house is, and yes it is good track that produces some exciting races.

Re: A little about you..

Class: Junior Rotax Max
Chassis: 2001 Gillard, it's an old nail but it keeps going
Championship: BDKC and HKRC
Opinions: Great fun, obviously! Driving standars are a little dodgy at times compared to other formulas

When i started out in karting there were two people in my championship who i really had a great deal of respect for. One, Matt Skilton just for his sheer pace and determination, un-believably quick and left the field standing at times. The second, more for race craft than anything Reece Broady, sitting behind him on the track or watching him as a spectator you could see wherever he started on the grid he gave it a full 110% effort and pulled off some very hard moves which is what i noticed. Not at all afraid to get a bit of contact in though was always a fair racer.

Rotax Max/ 100 National

02 Maranello

selected rounds of Llandow club champs IE: I'm broke and race when I can

Love the rush

I admire a few different drivers. One that sticks in my mind is Jason Bird who I raced against at Shenny last year. Nice guy off track. Hard racer on.

Thanks David but if you look at the standings if you win a weekend you get about 140 points unfortunately the gap is to big infact the gap is so big my 3rd looks good for me and there is only 40 points.Plus it's the best of 7 rounds out of 8 so the postions should stand.

I'm on the verge of being in the Junior Heavys next year.
It's such a handy cap racing in the Lights there are 2 german drivers who are half the size of me and they are only competitive because of there weight.
I can't wait to move up because I have to go flat out all the time even esses type of corners beacuse when someone passes me it's userly on the straight.

Experience dosn't mean anything......
And talent.

Whats your class? Senior Rotax Max and Honda Prokart
Chassis? BRM / Wright (Rotax) and Wright / 7Kart (Prokart)
Championship? MSA sprints in Kent & Open endurance kart championship (Rotax), EKC southern endurance kart championship (Prokart)
Opinions? With so much money evident in motorsport why can't some of it be spent on circuit facilities to give us more venues like PFi and raise the profile of the sport!

Class: Senior Rotax Max
Chassis: 2004 Trulli JT3

BDKC, some TVKC and Kartmasters

Looking really at running up near the front, where we were in Juniors and hopefully take a few wins and be somewhere in the top 6 at the end of the year, could go either way though as my first race isn't until the 28th of Feb so am only going by last years pace +8hp and testing times

Unfortunately for me racing is too expensive.
I have a Rotax max senior in an Mba chassis and I practice as many times as I can during a month. Not more than 2 or 3.
I love driving for "hours".I only want to get out just for refilling and then back again. Here in Athens (Greece) we have one really good race track. The rest are small, but I do not mind ..............if there is for karting everything will do

There's quite a few and they're doing well nationally. Have finally got mine set up right and am really pleased with how it handles. Their part of the Tony Kart brand along with Kosmic and Redspeed so have all the same parts and build quality. Certainly some of the best for Max and other classes too

Just thought that I'de throw a wrench into the works:

Race: KART sanctioned Stock Medium, Stock Heavy, and Blue Wazoom.

Chassis: 2 STS Offsets (STS= Seriously Trick......Stuff) Made in Indianapolis

Race at: Thunderlake Speedway(1/5 mile slightly banked clay oval)
Warrensburg (1/5 mile HIGHLY banked clay oval)
Wellington (1/3 mile FLAT dirt oval)
Travel within 4 states for money races

Currently 3rd in points at T-Lake but lot's more season left to screw that up.
Just thought I would throw this out so I could hear all the latest dirt track jokes. Remember: if you aren't getting dirty, you're not doing it right.

Road raced cars for 17 years, been at these karts for about 4 years and convinced that I never really learned anything AND am getting dummer every day.

I admire anybody that can drive one of these things tidy and fast.

Dan Fielden has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Class/ World Formula
Chassi/ MS (WF)
Club/ Isle Of Man Kart Racing ASS' (I.O.M.K.R.A)

I think kartin is good as does every driver. I realy admired Montoya in his early f1 days coz he started in f1 when i started in karts and i would always try and be like he was on the track.

Whats your class - TKM Extreme
Chassis - Tec-Mec
Championship - bits of everything, started off doing s1 at the start of the year but had a terrible first two rounds bending chassis in the first heat of both despite having the pace to run at the front. have had a lot of terrible luck this year so i'm easing off for now and building some money up for the start of next year.
