New Challenge
It hasn't got a name Its a small track (450m), in a steep sided valley. There was an extension (dashed line) which got as far as levelling the hill on the opposite side of the track, but no further before money ran out. The extension was to include new pits and paddock. Now, about 10 years after the work began, the tracks owners have found a new sponser for their track, but they don't agree with the planned extension. They want the track to become a racing school when its not in use, so they want the new size of the track to be even longer than originally planned. The only requirements are that during construction, the existing circuit must be able to remain in operation for as long as possible (meaning as few changes as possible); and the new track must be at least 1500m (the planned extension would make it only 980m). The final requirement is that you must use the parts of the planned extension at the top of the image, where earthworks are already advanced, and cannot be altered further. As for the image dimensions, its 600x600 pixels (click on the 50% scale one above to view), and its 1 pixel per metre Last edited by pirenzo; 19 Feb 2005 at 21:00. |

You know what I think of challenges... I LOVE 'EM!!!...
OK, so here is my go at it ... The original circuit is still in tact, which of course can/may be used for driving school most times a year... The circuit extension is quite a simple one. From the original circuit, I decided to not use the 'original propsed' layout, but however make it a much tigher way of going north. The part where the earthworks had already begun in the north is now part of the circuit. Then, to get off it, there is an extremely tight left hander followed by an easier right hander. This is where the pits are as well... From the pits to the original circuit, there are just straights with a few small technical corners. Very simple in design, and I believe very effective... The green is now the access road and pit area... The light blue is either the short circuit or part of the original circuit... Hope you like ... Last edited by f1freak; 20 Feb 2005 at 01:23. |

True... It's something I wouldn't usually do, but the track is pretty short and probably won't host the world's fastest series anyway.

Nah, I don't think gravel run off is even necessary.
The main straight in lustigs track is all of 250m. Probably trying to cram a bit much in a small space this challenge, so my track (almost done) is a bit more flowing, with far fewer corners than that. |

Well I have mine here:-
The green star is the driving school, I used pretty much the original (as it was a good track I throught) the cut in (at the end of the straight on the original) can be used either way or not at all ..... it would be mainly used for the school as they would be using the newer "extension". what do you think ?
