It's going to be a great day Nice to see the Classic package back together and look what happens when we're given a circuit everyone wants to race on, full grids , Classic Clubmans has 26.

MGs at Mallory on Sunday, massed fields of Classics at Donington on Monday. What better way of spending a Bank Holiday could there be ??

Thanks to all the competitors at this meeting for a great day's racing.
Full grids in all bar 1 race (a midfield dice between 2 Jags and a Mini made up for it though) and some very lovely cars. Just when did the likes of Citroen BXs, Renault 5s and Escort XR3s become "classics" though Some photos from qualifying are on this link . |

Citroen BX is not a classic. The BX 16v is.

one step away from the great ongoing practical classics debate about when a car is a classic.classic thunder was devised as a series for outdated modified saloons etc and is becoming very popular. unfortunatelly it also is home to the stillborn pre 90 series that is class e and f, with cars running to a spec similar to the normal ctcrc championships, with a frightening speed differential between the fastest and slowest cars.shame the series never got going in its own right though.best to think of it as the pre 90 championship run by the classic club if xr3s and alfasuds annoy you! as for the 16v making a bx a classic then that could be another story............

Perhaps I should have said Citroen BX is not a classic but the 16v engine is.
