Goodwood Festival help
A day at the FOS during a trip from Oz is looking a possibility. Saturday is looking most likely - any info re tickets or anything else would be much appreciated. Will General Admittance tickets be sufficient or is a grandstand a neccessity. Can a day trip from London be done with public transport/tour bus?
Any local knowledge would help! |

Advance tickets are now essential for all days. My experience is that a seat is not needed as one spends more time walking around the paddocks, shops, etc!
A day trip from London will be no problem.Hourly trains from Victoria to Chichester, journey time about 90mins.Shuttle bus from bus station across road from rail station every 30mins. www.goodwood.co.uk Last edited by Rob29; 21 Feb 2005 at 09:00. |

Rick, advance tickets are essential as you cannot buy tickets on the gate any longer. I wouldn't bother with a grand stand seat either because you will spend the day walking around the paddocks, watching from various parts of the hill or even going down to the start line and watching them blast off the line.

thanks alot gents - that was what I was thinking - I do prefer to wander around. Sounds like I'll just get a ticket and "wing" it.

Tickets are available from the website and if I were you I wouldn't leave it long before buying as they sell out very early in the year!

I would agree with all that. I am a member at Goodwood and attend both weekends, but never bother getting a seat as there is so much to see. I hope you enjoy your visit - the FoS really is a unique event. The only trouble might be seeing all the highlights in one day!
