Which version of the track are they using for this? Is there the final chicane involved?

Fabio is an absolute beginner with s2000s, so it shouldn't be easy for him but he's here to learn. Bennani is also here in Imola. Andrea Larini is driving a Seat Leòn Tfsi as a Eurocup prize, but he's still doing the two Eurocup races so it's going to be pretty tough for him...!

Yeah, too much crashing, but I can't see anyone's fault in any case. First, it was Rydell who collided with Huffy - Richard started braking earlier and Rob hit his front wheel with his own rear. That's why Seat lost it's toe-in Than **** happened, as it sometimes does. Pity Farfus got hit and damaged his car. And GREAT job from Thommo! Now I'm waiting for race two

Pretty mad race - especially for a race one...all these cars need to race again today!
Congratulations on Alex with 4th. Congrats to Thommo on Lada's first points. Shame on Poulsen - horrible crash for van Lagan. Had Farfus snuck into Priaulx's car? What on earth was going on there? |

Yvan Muller did a great job in lap 1 of the first race to keep his car on the track. I guess his ice-racing did pay off. On this track the Seat's always were going to be the guys to beat, so no surprises there. It was nice to see that Muller and Tarquini are allowed to fight eachother (or at least try to let it look that way)
Does anyone know if Coronel had a problem in the second race? It is hard to believe that if you can mix it with the factoryguys in the first race, that you only have the pace to be in the back of the pack in the second. BTW the blue livery looks nice, and is quite easy to spot on tv as well. |

I had the same impression but according an interview on autosport.nl he had no technical problems. Others were quicker.

Great effort by the Lada guys. Shame for Van Lagen not to score the first points as he did so well in Germany, but i'm pleased for Thommo and its clear he will help them progress further.

Has nobody noticed that Coronel completely cut the 1st chicane and gained about 10 positions in doing so? In Race 1 James "defended" him, preventing others to catch up on him, but in Race 2 he was caught back in the middle of the pack. A great driver, but I really cannot understand why the stewards didn't punish him. d'Aste did the same thing in Spa 2005, won the outright race and got penalized and put back to 2nd...

Coronel did the right thing in race 1 by cutting the chicane - it was that or plough into the back of an already big accident. Thompson wasn't as blatant but he was forced to take a short-cut as well.

I think that if everyone had done that it would have been extremely dangerous. If you cut to avoid an accident, you slow down, but apparently he didn't, as he found himself in 4th. I didn't like the move and the stewards' decision, they should treat everyone the same way in every occasion. I already disliked Farfus not being penalized for hitting Yvan Muller several times. Too many people will see the Wtcc as the championship in which crashes, corner cuttings and rules discussion are the main attractions, instead of the big manufacturers, the fact that you can see the drivers and shake their hands and see so many overtakings. This may degenerate as well. Anyway, Thommo was not investigated, while Tom was.
