Can I suggest that we keep why this is really bad and what it means for the sport in the other threads where things have already been said.
Let’s keep this thread to the weekend. Outrage thread: https://tentenths.com/forum/showthre...154739&page=28 Looking forward to it thread: https://tentenths.com/forum/showthre...155760&page=18 Repeating these views ad nauseam: https://tentenths.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=45 Last edited by Adam43; 29 Apr 2021 at 18:26. |

Looking tight at the top times. Crikey it’s close. Looks fun.
How’s the weather? It’s Spa after all. Most people got 30 odd laps in. Except the #70 Realteam only got 8 laps in. Still second fastest in LMP2. United has a sizeable 0.4s lap time advantage over the other LMP2 - quite a gap. the next six are covered by the same gap. Last edited by Adam43; 29 Apr 2021 at 18:29. |

Glad to see the 7 Toyota get some laps in. Hope they got all the gremlins sorted. Didn't see that there were any big incidents on track, which after the test earlier, that is good news. Still 2 more practices tomorrow before qualifying. Plenty of time to work on different setup tweaks after the prologue. |

Real shame i will not be there again, tickets transferred to 2022. Will have to watch the race from the sofa again. should be a good race and interesting to see how the new cars perform in a race rather than testing

So the #8 Toyota is 10th on the leaderboard but actually has the 2nd fastest optimal lap time behind Alpine.

First race for the Toyota. Those gremlins could hurt them.

Looking forward to the first race of the season. Honestly not expecting any surprises in terms of finishing order...probably end up being standard WEC fare. Toyota laps ahead, privateer P1 might keep up with P2.
6 Hours is still a long race, with long stints. I'd be surprised (and honestly delighted) if it was super scrappy between the prototype classes. |

Toyota find another second straight out of the box in FP2.

And you can now see all of the trails of sand being deposited around the circuit!

Nothing really changed. Still super tight at top. The newer cars now have a tiny advantage? Order more like the last day of testing than earlier on.
People starting to get ready for Q? United still the fastest LMP2. Ferrari now top of GT. No snow, but looks nippy out there. Air temp 4.9deg C today, 5.6 yesterday. |

I don't think there will be many changes during qualifying, likely best lmp2 and LMH will be close in a range of 2.02-2.03, lmp2 are simply too fast on S2.
Doubts for tomorrow race, In theory lmp2 and LMH should have the same race pace but there are 2 big factors to consider: 1. toyota and alpine will benefict by the fact silver-bronze lmp2 drivers won't be able to run as fast as gold-platinum drivers 2. stint lenght is still a big question mark, what's fuel tank size of lmp2? 70L or 75L? usually lmp2 with 75L and gibson set to 9000rpm had about 40m long stint. No info about alpine fuel tank and toyota has a big 90L one that should let them be on track longer than the usual 40-45m stint, but according to eot max MJ are these 90L "free" consumable? Basically 0 interest about GTE (IMHO) |

The lack of interest in GTE comment is not true at all. But got to admit that interest centers around Gavin/Garcia Corvette and not too much else. Its not 2018 anymore folks.
And as far as the Porsche and Ferrari efforts go. They are top quality no doubt, but we can get top quality Porsche and Ferrari cars and drivers in GT World Challenge too with many other manufactuters to race against and no prototypes to worry about. So yeah with GTLM/GTE fading, the GT universe I think shifts over to the SRO, DTM, and Nurburgring segments now. Away from WEC and IMSA. That will be the main issue with IMSA GTD Pro I think is to seperate themseleves from the other entities I mentioned. Me thinks 2022 will be last year of GTE Pro and it won't be replaced in 2023. |

Porsche 911 RSR into the 2 min 11's. That is a new GT record. And yes sand off Toyota now. Maybe it won't be as exciting as we first thought.

Or could it be the ACO saying don't expect any changes this weekend as far as Hypercar vs LMP and not to expect any further major changes to LMP2 from here on out the other day?
