Cor Euser
It appears some things are still as they should be; in the Dutch Supercar series, Cor has racked up several wins with the Marcos lm600, against several Moslers, an Audi TT and a Viper.
Go Cor! Bob |

Just the mention of that car puts a smile on my face. Looks mad, sounds like a dinosaur being raped, goes like stink, wins races, occasionally disappoints. It's everything that you love about cars when you're 8 years old, it's perfect because of it's imperfections and everything I got into motorsport for. A modern motorsport classic in my book.

He is racing with the Marcorelly instead of the LM600.

The Marcorelly is an evolution of the Marcos Mantis. It has a stiffer chassis, flat bottom and the exhausts are moved from back to both sides. The engine is a 5L V8 from Ford (?).

Who built the original BGT LM600's from 94/95?
Chris Hodgets and David Leslie drove them occasionally. There opposition at the time was the Pantera and G-Force 935/GT2's, plus the occasional Harrier. |

Marcos... The originals were factory entered cars.
Chris Hodgetts was British GT champion in his, but I think David Leslie only raced at Le Mans (might be wrong, though, I have a vague feeling he ran in some non-works outings in the BGT). Biggest competition was the Chamberlain entered Lotus Esprit V8s, really. Cheers. |

The Mantis is an ugly, fat car- the Mantara/LM600...now that's pure sex. And yes, a dinosaur being raped |

That's indeed the rainbow warrior. Great car! It's a shame we don't see it in FIA GT or LMS.

That Computacenter colour-scheme added even more sex appeal to the 'dinosaur'........

Cor's current LM600 is effectively running in GT2 spec, notice the much lower rear wing, smaller tyres and narrower track than the GT1 spec car. Compare to the 2006 Belcar GT1 spec car that was run by Eurotech:
http://www.vikingengineering.nl/site...e%201%20Belcar I believe the changes due to the car being entered in Spanish/Open GTs over the last couple of years, where the cars in the GTA class now have to confirm to GT2 technical specifications. Great to see an LM600 still competitive, it's one of the true stalwarts of GT racing. |

Seriously, though, the LM600 Evos were some seriously badass cars. I remember the lead car having a great run (against the Vettes?) many a year ago in Daytona, 2001 or 2002, until somewhere around midnight at least, with Cor Euser and Calum Lockie on the strength (during the rainbow paint era). Was really pulling for those guys. |
