DMN Lydden 6th October
You can forget how close the points are in F1 and BTCC, the real close one is Class D of DMN. Alex Ribbens is 2 points in front with 2 rounds to go, but on dropped scores I am leading by 2. Close aint the word.
Any idea of time table, as I am flying to Greece at 9 that evening and need to be at Gatwick for 7. Also need to know as I want to enter Ray Donner in the sports and saloons in my car so need to know how quickly we have to turn the car around for him |

And on the basis of this weekend the 2 of you are very evenly matched Andy. Great scraps in both races before the minor indescretion at the hairpin

It's a bit early to say exactly what the Oct.6th timetable will be, all depends on entries. However, the DMN (championship) races are usually before sports/saloons and tin tops, but we should have a better idea when we get nearer the closing date.

Oh dear, this is going to be some madness for me.
Spa on the Friday, Lydden Saturday and Spa again on the Sunday. Any chance Mr. Palmer would lend me his chopper? The things I do for some cookies! |

Sequential boxes now have a 50% engine capacity multiplier, rather than being an automatic class A. Class B now for - forced induction up to 2500cc, multivalve 4000cc, dual valve 6000cc. Class C now for - forced induction 1600cc, dual valve 2500cc, multivalve 2000cc. Diesels get a 50% capacity reduction. Rotary engines prohibited except class A. (all taken from Brief Torque) Does the Class A chassis change affect John Cross' Merc? Are the E30 M3s multi-valve? |

MSA unhappy with space frame silhouettes does this mean they are banned from everthing not just dmn ,if so why .if it on saftey grounds i guess it will effect many more championships (inc t-cars) and p a lot of people off who have put some hard earned cash into a car that cant be raced anywhere .any news peeps would be great..

Any changes to the rules will come in for 2008. At the moment. as far as I am aware, there are no other changes being made other than those mentioned by Graham in Brief Torque. It maybe that there are other slight tweaks, but they are the only significant changes.

No they are NOT banned. They can race with BARC south east in 2008, no problem. However, they will race in the sports/saloon class and hopefully this will boost this series into becomming a championship. Currently we need more meeting content if the centre is to survive. The sports/saloons will primarily cater for front engined cars and only a few rear engined cars will be allowed into the invitation class. The idea is to include the silhouette cars which have just lost championship status, plus any new "spaceframe" cars such as the much talked about Fiestas. This class will also include some front engined Porsches, TVRs and MGs. Hopefully it will lead to some cracking racing which is what our spectators are asking for.
We received some very good e-mails about last week's meeting at Lydden, not least the entertainment provided by the national hot rods. Currently we can only run them at Lydden once a year, but we might see some in the sports/saloons? |

The only way to get rid of the adds is to become a subscriber. But then that is off topic.
