Seto's best races
There have been many great Glenn Seton races to choose from in his 22 years in touring car racing. You can have as many as you want.
My choices are: 1) Bathurst 1987 2) Oran Park ATCC 1987 3) Oran Park ATCC 1997 4) Phillip Island ATCC 1995 5) Phillip Island ATCC 1994 6) Mallala ATCC 1993 7) Oran Park ATCC 2002 8) Phillip Island ATCC 1999 9) Bathurst 2003 10) Bathurst 1996 There are many others that I'm sure I was wrongly omitted, but that's up to you, the Ten-Tenths community to point that out. Have fun. |

Bathurst 2004 should be there as well i think. 6 pit stops and still on the podium is quite something !!
I think 1987 was the best one tho |

I'd like to hear the case for Bathurst 2004. From reading the lap times and my perception of the race, it hardly stands as a career highlight when it comes to Glenn's actual driving performance. Bathurst 2003 was far more convincing than 2004, in my opinion.

Qualifying at Lakeside (ok, so not a race) in 1984, in the wet he put the 3 Litre Capri in the top 10 (8th from memory).
Calder 1986 ATCC, led the race in only his 4th race for Nissan (before throwing it off the road) Calder & Wanneroo 1987 ATCC, in both cases he got infront and just walked away and controlled the races, superb drives. Mallala 1995 ATCC - Won the 3 races that day (PJ Dash and both Championship races). |

Have been watching Bathurst 1995 again over the last few days. How cruel was that really? Maybe it's hard to separate the actual driving performance in the race situation from the actual circumstances but to me he was gliding along that day, floating on air.

1995 was very very cruel to Seto, someone was feeling especially sadisitc that day. It doesn't even compare to Dicks rock or Radisichs 99 heartbreak.
Worst of all it was Barry Setons V8 that broke. Glenn in tears on the mount and Bo in tears in the pits. Must of been hell packing up that day in the PJ pit. Strangely enough the commentator reassured Glenn that he'll one day win a Tooheys 1000, pity there hasn't been a Tooheys 1000 since. 1996 would of been quite a year, but the Peter Jackson sponsership was forceably removed. |

Removed from Glenn Seton, but the money went to Alan Jones.
ahh 1995, the year the Fords were meant to be nowhere at Bathurst One of Seton's best days was at Adelaide in 1988, with no Nissan touring car for him to drive, he took victory in Formula 2 at his first go. |

Yeah AJ screwed Seton over by taking his sponser & then the Stone's screwed AJ over for his team (& then did then same to Longhurst). Well thats atleast what some people reckon anyway

The Stones bought out AJ's share in the team at the end of 1997. I'm not sure of the exact circumstances. Jones' car wound up the next year in Jason Bright's hands and sponsered by Pirtek, while in 1997 Jones struggled for bucks. AJ of course wound up in a second Longhurst Falcon.
Longhurst sold his team at the end of 1999 (to BJR) and put together the Caltex deal to take to SBR. At the end of the year Longhurst was given his marching orders..... |
