the way the new cars look?
is it me or do others think that the new prototypes look a bit stupid with the other driver headrest? a double roll over would look better (audi R8R). I dont see how having two headrests and that achieves anything

I have to admit that I don't like the new prototypes' look very much : they look too high on the sides, and the double headrest don't give justice to the general shape.
Not a success, estheticaly talking, IMHO. |

Fab, I agree with your quote about the height, some touring cars seem to look lower then the new protos! I too am also not keen on the double headrest. I think Courage have done a better job on the headrest for the C65 then what Lola have done for example, by having the passenger rollbar lower then the drivers.
I don't know if you have seen the new Dome S101 hybrid chassis (I saw it on DSC), I think they have done the best they can with it but give me the old Dome S101 anyday! I suppose we better start getting used to it though |

The old LMP900/675s were looking too much like a single seater.
I actually prefare the double hoops, particualrly the two single hooops fitted to the Lola. The ride height doesn't seem as pronounced on the full reg cars compared to the hybrids, particulalry the NASAMAX. How cool is the Dome HB:- http://www.dome.co.jp/column/column_suzuki_04.html |

When viewed from near ground level, they do look too high, and those tail plates are butt ugly. The twin headrests don't bother me much, though I agree with Duffacus on the passenger rollbar.
I can't say the lmp675 c65 looks much better than the lmp2, same with Dome s101 and hb. The Lucchini and the new Lola look great too imo. Come to think of it, there arent that much protos that I don't like So I guess the new rules don't mean much to me, aesthetically I'm still eagerly awaiting a roofed lmp, then we'll talk beauty |

I thought the new lola looked good until i saw it from the sides...then it appears to have been slightly crushed a little...it seems like it should be much longer than it is....that dome is smooth though!!
Is RfH gonna use them or the old ones? |

Will be interesting to see if the LMP1 Lola has a long tail. BTW, RFH will use the old car. Next year who knows. |

I don't like the way the aerodynamics is now confined into restrictive rules.
I would prefer a less powerful engine on a beautiful car with a smart and fine bodywork. I don't like the new height of the sides, and above all the rear part with the boxes behind the wheels. If the engines were less powerful, you could recover a same speed in the straights with a better aerodynamic fineness, and then less speed in curves. What does mean 50 or 60 litres of petrol / 100 kms today ? And please, remove the chicanes, let the most powerful engines for GT1 and 2 which are heavier cars and let the prototypes being prototypes. In any case, we will get used to see thies new LMP, year after year ! |

I always thought a good place would be just outside the curve we could see the cars approach all the straight long and see them dissapear at the "hump" [/DREAMING MODE] |

So far the new cars are dogs, with the Dome being slightly better.
Diddy rear wings, diddy endplates, ugly boxes by the tunnels, ride height, roll hoops, short tails etc. The Lola with its long nose and short tail looks like a cheese wedge. Hopefully they will be nicer in the flesh. |
