93/94 Dtm Bmw
Does anyone have any info regarding the 2 door BMW coupe that raced in the DTM during those years? Did the car have any factory support? Purely a privateer effort? I recall the car was later sold/raced in the JGTC. I don't recall what happened after that.

As far as I can remember, one car was developed by Thompson Engineering and annamed by Linder Motorsport. Driver in 93 Armin Hahne, in 94 Frank Schmickler. The DHL- BMW of 94 was annamed by Wagenhäuser, i don't know which company did the developemt. There had been a lot of drivers, eG Harald Becker, Rüdiger Schmitt, Georg Severich, Fritz Huber, Neil Cunningham... I think the engines had been tuned by Randlinger, but I am not sure... There were 2 factory- backed BMW M3 GTR (with a 3000 cc 6cylinder Engine) in the German GT-Cup, driven by Johnny Cecotto (BMW factory- colours, Team Warthofer) and Kris Nissen (yellow- pink- blue- coloured, Team Isert, sponsored by Dalloon). Cecotto and Nissen finished 1st and 2nd in the championship Last edited by Thommy; 21 Dec 2004 at 07:36. |
