WOW Extends Its Team Australia Commitment
http://www.autoracingdaily.com/artic...ia_commitment/
WOW Sight & Sound signage will also appear on the Team Australia Champ Cars of both Queensland native Will Power and young Frenchman Simon Pagenaud in this year’s Champ Car World Series, which will be highlighted by the Lexmark Indy 300 on the streets of the Gold Coast in October. WOW Sight & Sound will also feature on the Team Australia entry in the two NASCAR Nextel Cup road course events at Sonoma, California (June 24) and Watkins Glen, New York (August 12) to be driven by Australian star Marcos Ambrose and up to eight others. |

Wow didn't appear to significantly sponsor TA last year.
I didn't realize that TA was getting into Nascar. The article makes mention of Max Wilson. I don't follow the V8 Supercars series closely, but I'm surprised that Wilson has performed better in the itme he's been over there. I was really impressed with him when he was in CCs. |

He's not exactly in a top line team. He's done pretty well I think. |

Yes I ment that I was surprised that Wilson hasn't performed better in V8s. He may not have been in a "top line" team, but he was in pretty much the worst team in CC. I'm going by memory, but I believe that they did no testing and just showed up to races. He had a 4th place finish (compared to his one 3rd place in V8s) and a 3rd place qualifying. In several races I believe he managed to get himself up pretty close to the front before things happened and he dropped back/out. In other words his performances were better than his finishing results might indicate.
I know that WOW sponsored TA for Surfers, but that appeared to be it. Ideally one would like to see even lesser coverage over the course of the season for the TV benefits. |
