Rossi in Ferrari
Autosport.com are saying that Valentino Rossi has tested this week at Fiorano in a Ferrari F1 car and has stunned everyone by going faster than Burti on the same day and only 3secs off the lap record in only the first time he has driven a single seater!!
If thats true then that is amazing I know this is the wrong forum but I thought it was interesting! Last edited by Mal; 21 Apr 2004 at 16:10. |

Unbelievable ! Even if it's definitely the wrong forum, I'm glad to read that, and prefer to let it here one hour or two, just to allow the members to know...
What a pilot ! |

Looks as he's doing much better than Max B when he was offered a test with the Reds 2 years ago. Anyway , what he did this weekend in Welkom SAF, was amazing...

Hope he will move to F1, because it wil make MotoGP a more open championship and F1 can't be more boring it is now.

Awesome!
By the way, there's a thread on this in the F1 forum already. |

Interesting, but it'll have to be merged in that forum sooner or later..... |

unless we can move it to Sportscars.....
Who here would want to see Rossi in a Ferreari at LM this year, we already have McRae in one after all! Ok it may not be possible, but on his F1 performance I don't doubt he'd be a useful addition to any team... Well I'm allowed to dream eh... |

If it puts your mind at rest the mods are sportscar fans. In fact one of them goes to Le Mans every year and has done for ages. This is ten-tenths folks not a battle field for those who like different series! |

Well I wasn't going to mention it, but I will now. I see a number of our sportscar forum friends over in the F1 forum (you know who you are). They may not always post, but they're there. Consider yourself caught! lol I freely admit to traveling to several of ten-tenth's forums. Gosh, glad to be out of the closet about that. :P
Now, back on topic. Who's this Rossi guy anyways? Last edited by jhansen; 21 Apr 2004 at 23:36. |

I wonder how shumi would fair on a 500cc GP bike?
It would be great if rossi found his way into a car of some sort, the next Surtees? |

I am actually having withdrawal symptoms now. For years we've considered a nice trip down to PQ, but again other things get in the way. Preparation for the next race This year things are worse. One of my best mates is a journo and he is going across to cover (and go to) the race for the first time. He is also doing PQ - and I am jealous, especially as he gets to spend loads of time with the Audi lot. And FWIW he is not covering a couple of GP because of PQ and the race! Well no motorsport hack worth anything could possibly have never gone to Le Mans, even if he does have a Bernie pass!

Yesterday it was one day with being on the track of Fiorano bus Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello was at the wheel of Maserati MC12, one dreams already of such a crew in Mans the next year... why not!

MS, RB and Luca (or Rossi ) out in the Mazza at Le Mans. Wow!
I'd even like an M3 there if we could have JPM, RS and Gene in one! or KR, DC and AW in a Zonda! (they'd be used to having breakdowns ) Even the good old days weren't that good! What I'd really like to see is Webber, Klien and A N Other in a real Jaguar. (To be fair I wouldn't carre about the drivers, just get them back where they belong). |
