First pic of Seat Cupra in action
This Sunday during the last race of Spanish GT series could see Seat Cupra GT debut. With Jordi Gené at wheel car did two laps in Montmeló track. Car will run in Spanish Gt series next year (and maybe Belcar) but according to Spanish press could have interest in FIA GT.

Well, hmmmm, ummm, sure did hit a bunch of branches as it fell out of the ugly tree. Looks like a Picchio drawn GT.

This is a real GT, not as Toledo GT . Anyway SEAT would have to build 25 road cars, maybe because of this I am a bit sceptical......

I think it is definitely cool-looking....
Why not design something that looks a little different??? If it is running GT, I'm damn glad that it doesn't look like a Porsche.... |

Any hints about the performances ? It could be good to have it on the field of the FIA-GT, for diversity...

I think the car looks fantastic (and that's not because I 'm Seat driver myself - altough, maybe a little.. )
Would be good to see it in FIA GT. If they are not going to produce 25 cars of it, they better could have built a prototype! The car could show up in the Spa 24 hours 2004. One more reason to plan this race in my race-vistit-schedule! |

A little more info from the website, mentioned above:
Developed by SEAT Sport and the new SEAT Design Centre in Sitges, the Cupra GT is powered by a V6 twin turbo engine from Audi origin, producing more than 500 hp. The engine is in a central rear position and delivers power to the rear wheels via an efficient six-speed sequential gearbox. The Cupra GT will be built to order. It is destined to SEAT Sport's customers devoted to competition, racing teams and technical racing specialists and is to be driven on the race track. So, nothing about producing road cars. Only for the race tracks! |

It says the car has 550bhp, now Im assuming this is in race trim as the cars arent being produced for the road, if this is the case the car will be somewhat underpowered with cars like the Saleen, Ferrari 550/575 producing 600+bhp.

They still have to improve to enter it, but it looks good, and knowing the Audi Group Commitment, it's good news...
And this one is red, at least, not carbon black ! |
