New Reynard?

I was looking at Rookie test pics on CART.com today, and i noticed that the Reynard that the new Mexican guy was testing is way different from Monteiro's. Have they allowed Reynard to build new chassis? I was out of the loop for a while in the summer, so i might have missed something.
This is Tiago Monteiro's "old" Reynard:

...And this is Luis Diaz's "new" Reynard:

Look at the sidepods, for example, and the front wing, they're different! Have they made a new undertray? This is the thing that Reynards needed most, was a new undertray.

I did read somewhere that the new car really was a "new" car. But I've never heard anything about CART relaxing their development freeze. Pretty interesting.

The front wing aero bits look like the pre-Reyske Reynard to me. Of course it's hard to tell since there aren't many pictures of Lavin's early season Reynard in one-piece.

penske reynard bit- as they have been developed are being used by a few teams to good effect, so i bet that this is waht is showing up on many cars, and any mothballed chassis developed but not sold might be coming out as well

The front wing isn't a great deal different, it just looks a lot different because of the different paint schemes. The sidepods on the "new Reynard definitely appear to slope up towards to cokpit ever so slightly, so maybe it is new... Speaking of paint shcemes, what's the deal with that one? Where'd it come from? Which team does it belong to? So many questions...

Luis Diaz's car now for Indycar Racing II

After I saw Luis's car, I had to dig out my paint kit and add it to my CART2K3 carset.

Great variation on the team livery.

I'm pretty sure it's for Indycar Racing II/CART Racing by Papyrus, old game, but still pretty realistic.

I always have loved Walker's paintschemes (and I'm a huge fan of him) and this is another great one !!

It may be the colour scheme again, but the first car has a nose that comes to a distinct point, and lower. Bit hard to say as so dark

Yeah, the car is for IndyCar Racing II/CART Racing. A few months ago the Lola carshape was made for ICR2 based off of this year's Lola.

I'm surpised how well the game has stood the test of time.

Indycar II was ultra-realistic for its time but can hardly hold up that mantel today.

If CART racing and GPL married we'd have one hell of a game.

The nose looks a bit slimmer on the new Reynard. Like the Lola's.
