Masters Brands - Bank Holiday Weekend

Hi,
Looking forward to this one, just got my tickets through, anyone else going? Does anyone have a spare ticket as I kind of told my boss I could get him a couple? If so please PM me or perferably email with your address and I can put a SAE in the post to you.
Cheers.

Guess I should have included my e-mail address, chrissnell@tiscali.co.uk, I'll be there for the three days, not easy getting bank holiday weekend off, but I have an understanding boss . . . .

Was going to do all three, but have had to scrub the Saturday to get a new exhaust fitted. Gonna be a bit pricier than a day at Brands....

Anyone have information on camping for next weekend? I,ve been a season ticket holder at Brands for years and I always seem to miss some of the historic action so I'm considering staying all weekend. I haven't camped out at Brands since the last GP in 1986! so I'm not sure of the score. MSVR website hasn't any detail on camping.

There is _SOMETIMES_ public camping at the bigger meetings. If you go to the main gates, don't go through them, but go immediately left and follow the perimeter road round, there's a spectators site. I don't know the cost, how you book etc, but I'd speak to MSVR about it.

The FAQs on the MSVR website here say there is camping, opening midday Friday and closing midday Tuesday.

Just like to say a big thank you on behalf of the people in Race Control and indeed Masters for all your hard work this weekend. As always you were great and provided the great Marshaling that we are so lucky to have. Couple of scary moments for us in Race Control when it appeared that we had a "Deja Vu" of sorts with the vette at Paddock Bend. Thankfully not quite as severe as Mr Grants last year (although it looked like it at first) but thank you all for superb clearing, great well written post reports, clear communications and superb Marshaling throughout

As I always say...we could not do it without you so thank you again

A top weekend of racing.

A 5.5 hour drive from Coventry on Friday, running out of gas in the camper on Saturday evening, it all turned out well.

Spent Saturday flagging on 7 - the pre 66 Touring cars was by far the best race of the day.

Sun/Mon on P8 with RaceGypsey and PapaJuliet. Enjoyable and interesting post to do.

Thanks Masters!

Another great weekend at Brands. Nice to see so many familiar faces again on my annual foray south of Newport Pagnall!

Unfortunatly my weekend ended on Monday morning as a tweak of my obviously not quite healed hamstring running to the inverted Corvette stiffened overnight forcing me to miss the last day.

However, I shall return!

As always a joy to be back at Brands. Thanks to my crews at 9 on Saturday and 8 on Sun/Mon for putting up with me and making my work just a signature on the bottom of the reports.

Be back in 3 weeks.

Many thanks to all on P25 Saturday and P9 Sunday/Monday. Had a great weekend especially the bouncey squeaking mini.

Top racing all round and the weather held out until the very end. See people on P9 - I told you it wouldn't rain!!!

Even nicer to meet him in the Kentagon at the end of the day where he was buying beers for the marshals that attended to him last year.

I did a taster day on Sunday on P5 with Don & Co. After years of going to brands as "just" a spectator, it was great to experience what life as a marshal is like. I had an excellent day, made all the better with guidance I had from Don and John. Started the day, having never waved a flag - by the end, I had waved or held all of them in qualifying or race.

Pleased to say the application has been sent off and fingers crossed, I will be back at Brands soon!

Tom

I had a trip to Brands on Monday to do something strange... buy a ticket on the gate, and spectate. I haven't done that since I started marshalling!
Some good came of it though - I managed to get round the entire circuit bar the stretch inside from Hawthorne to Westfield. You lads and lasses on post looked fairly busy at some points, but all those I managed to speak to seemed to be having a good day

I don't know who it was got caught out by the stalled Mustang on the inside of Druids on Monday though. After waiting ages for a gap, someone ran across from the outside... at the same time as the driver got it running and into gear again. I know I hate it when that happens but the car was in a pretty unusual position and the folks from down the hill on 4 wouldn't have been able to see it. Most unusually I got the whole sequence on camera from the moment the driver lost control to him driving off; if anyone wants to see them they're on my Flickr page.
