Rallycross Cars head to Tyneside
On Thursday November 1st Rallycross cars will attend a media day at Newcastle city centre. Various Drivers including Keneth Hansen will be doing demonstration runs along Newcastle Quayside between 11.00am & 2.00pm as part of the build up to the Superprix at Croft the following weekend. (Thinks, that should wake up the office workers and shoppers!!!).

Yes Bestrep's correct
Superprix media day is on the quayside in Newcastle on the 1st Nov Peter has worked endlessly with the local authorities to make this happen This is just the kind of thing we need to put Rallycross on the map where it should be ! Peter needs to be congratulated for is hard work :Shake When Pete rang one morning a few months ago to tell me his idea and looking at the photos of the site could only say lets do it !!! And he did The last time this kind of event happen here it was for the BTCC several years ago and about 5000 attended! and they only raced down a straight corse i think! This ones going to be a circuit and a donut area too So i recon you all need to be there early so not to miss the action . See you all there and even a later on CHRIS |

I'd love to go but got no form of transport! I'll be attending the Superprix though. Getting into the local area's surounding circuits really does help with getting more people to come and watch. It's what we're currently trying to do with Autograss.

The actual venue at Newcastle Quayside is Spillers car park, just a short distance from the millenium bridge (THE EYE).

There's some pictures on my website http://www.srh-motorsport-photography.com for those that are interested. I hope that Dave Bellerby masters the launch control on that Saab - he had some real difficulty with it, particularly on his first demonstration run. Cheers, Simon. |

While it was good to see rallycross on a prime time terrestrial news slot, the actual info it gave to the casual viewer was not the best. It did the typical 'regional news' thing. It concentrated on the battle between local drivers Mad Mark & Tony Bell. Which one will win the Championship? So it mentioned Saturdays event but not Sundays. 10 out of 10 for PSM and the team for getting the coverage, but 2 out of 10 for the TTTV news editor for the way it was cut |

Just to clear up I was the one who secured Tyne tees Television to be thair with me as they were on saturday as a follow up on a earlier report in the year when i lead the BRC. As the championship leader, the local battle and the sponsor of the superprix they thought it a very interesting piece fir TV. The reporter is a customer of mine and any coverage for rallycross on Television is a good thing as we strive for a higher profile for our sport.

Well done Mark
Now dont take this the wrong way guys, I know alot of drivers do there own promotion, but i think alot of the drivers need to realise they have to promote themselves and the sport more, not rely on others to do it for them. and then moan that they dont get any coverage |
