[iV8SC14R36R37R38] NRMA Sydney 500 Homebush, 5-7 Dec
The last round of the series is here, finally here.
The championship is a dead rubber... but the blokes other than 1st place are still chasing each other to pick up that additional place forwards in the field. As we saw at Phillip Island, the mob in the middle & the back are still fighting for sheep stations! But this round is different. There is a wildcard. A real wild card. A former champion returns, with a former champion team, with a brand new car and a brand new sponsor to that team. There is a school of thought that #66 will pop the car on pole & drive away from all of them. I think someone drank too much KoolAid when that was being thunk about. Its time to finish the season, say goodbye to friends, drivers, sponsors.. before ushering in new ones across the summer period. Anybody betting against a domination by #1? |

#66 to show the rest how the good ol boys play giving him a few bent panels during the course of the weekend, after all rubbin is racing over there,
#1 into the fence courtesy of a 'love' tap from #66. #66 with a drive through at least once during the weekend, we here in the land down under are all about penalties rather than metal to metal racing #66 to iron out the bugs before a full blown 2015 assault as the famous #17 & #1 rests back on his door in 2016 |

Homebush is usually a dud track for Whincup.
It's too tough to call for me. I'd say as much as Ambrose to finish mid-pack in all races, if he can keep it off the fence. No bias here at all, just being realistic. |

Ambrose History. First v8 race, pole position. First Bathurst, Pole position. would not be surprisd to see him in pole
However the race is often a bit of a lottery some suprise winners over the years |

Van Giz to dominate the weekend. He's special around street circuits. Ambrose to qualify top 10 and finish around the same area.

After being out of the series for so long, it would be an outstanding effort if Ambrose can set up and qualify the new (to him) COTF in the top 15. I also expect a fair bit of damage and a few penalties as he tries to make up positions.
Should be fun to watch. ;-) |

The Giz will show the Aussies how it is done, as long as he doesn't hit the pace car
Ambrose will be a midfield runner at best. |

Reports on Mr Ambrose's fan page on FB that the #66 is set to be liveried in a Pirtek & MAN trucks livery for the ride day, test days & Homebush!

Event wise its a shame that Homebush will be a ghost town once 6pm hits as there is no concert for the second year in a row, and no twilight race to take it's spot this year....
....A shame perhaps that V8Supercars couldn't have done some sort of deal with the A-League and had Sydney FC or the Wanderers play a game at ANZ Stadium on the Saturday night.... |

Isn't that how sponsorship is meant to work. attract you to a brand although i guess its not meant to drive a person from the brand because of who is sponsored Last edited by peckstar; 19 Nov 2014 at 22:44. |
