Andy Priaulx receives his MBE
Well done to Andy Priaulx, MBE (GCSE Woodwork, failed) who picked up his Award from Her Majesty on Monday...
http://www.andypriaulx.com/news/?p=441 As he says, a day to remember but it seems that the Royal TV needs tuning to Eurosport a little more often... |

I'm sure you will get yours soon Martin...
I bet The Queen hates those SEAT TDi's too. Well done for Priaulx though, perhaps the only award he will be picking up this year. |

He received it as much for his charity work with his wife as for being triple world champion....
As a Republican I an not a fan of the honours system... but when it rewards achievement as opposed to back hander's for dodgy political favours I am in full support... Well done Andy... if you where a triple F1 world champion... that would have been a Knighthood... |

As much as I am neutral on the issue of the recieving of MBE's and OBE's for sporting success, as much of a royalist I am, I think it would for the best to pander to the popular belief that charity or community work is the better reason for the OBE or MBE. I know that I happen to think recognition of the WTCC would have to be paramount in the fact it must come first in order for British drivers to get recognised, but I hope this is a stepping stone to more national recognition. |

well done Andy, although the charity contribution more than speaks for itself.
Being a British motorsport legend just isn't enough, u need the charity stuff too. Sorry John Surtees OBE, you need more charity work before you're awarded a KBE. |
