I wonder what type of BMW Monty was driving? 200+ kpm's is nothing to sneeze at but I reckon most bimmers would do that easy...still shame Monty shame...wonder if Connie was in the car? Guess she wasn't the voice of reason this time!

Doesn't it seem sad that drivers like Fisichella, Coultard, Barrichello, and Ralf all have secure seats in F1, despite having had race winning cars for many more seasons than Jacques, yet failing to chalk up as many wins as he (let alone a WDC) that it is Jacques who doesn't have a drive in F1??? Sad indeed.

204 km/h?

Pathetic!

I've always said he was slow

Although 204 Kph sounds fast, its only about 130MPH.

Ive done 120 MPH on the motorway.

But, what's the betting he did it on a winding single track country lane whilst passing a 'Jean-Claude' in his tractor?

I guess it could have been a race between JPM and JV, but sadly JV broke down as he left the gitte.

An X5 (performance SUV ). Alledgedly he was talking on a cellphone, playing with the stereo, and eating a chillidog all at the same time.

On a popular BMW forum my fellow Bimmer owners have reported he was driving an X5. Can't confirm that with another source. JPM's 204 KPH translates to about 127 MPH, which probably seems slow to him, even in an SUV.

Well, slow or fast for a beemer, but certainly for le gendarme 204 km/h means 74 km/h too fast.

This probably means he was on 'normal' road, no highway or something, 'coz few years ago I was driving on highway that goes just 'above' sea coast in France and I think I didn't go bellow 200kmh untill I exited the road. Maybe I was extremly lucky not to get caught by police, but the road really lets you drive as fast as you can (I was overtaken by few cars) and I don't remember seeing any signs of speed limits, so I assumed it's like on Autobahn in Germany - no limits

speed limits in France so exist on motorways - 130km/h if the weather's good - and it reduces to 110km/h in the rain. Then there's the other limits on other roads that i can't remember of the top of my head.

All the racing drivers I know drive over the speed limit, working on the principle of: "There but for the grace of God..."

Whats with the BMW drivers and speeding?! Ralf's been in trouble a few times for speeding in his BMW, Button was also caught speeding when he was a BMW driver, and now its Pablo's turn!

Keep the pace on the track fellows!

I take that back, aparently the police had to chase him before he would pull over. That's much more serious than I thought.

He has picked up some bad habits in the U.S. -- like a fondness for SUVs.

However, JPM should fight the charge in court; he can claim concussion-based amnesia after getting bonked by a cameraman last week.
