Springvale Council to enter Motor Sport?

Word tonight is that after a rather rowdy meeting of the Springvale Council - the council that effectively overseas Sandown International Raceway and dictates how many days it can hold meetings each year - have decided by a narrow vote of 6-5 to work towards taking over the licence for the track from Jon Davison.

Anna Singleton, Mayor of Springvale, said after the meeting tonight "We have been mindful now, for some years, that we have a veritable gold mine sitting in our own back yard and we are simply letting this valuable resource take income out of Springvale".

"We have numerous issues here in the City and we feel that Sandown could effectively remove the problem we jave with street drags being held on Dandenong Road every Friday and Saturday night' she continued.

The city of Springvale has been plagued over recent years with illegal drag racing taking place on Dandenong Road and it is believed that the council feels that it would be better to get these dragsters off the roads and onto the race track.

Jon Davison, who was only informed about this plan 2 hours before tonights meeting went into the meeting with all guns blazing.

"No way are they going to ****ing take this ****ing track off me - who the **** do they ****ing think theyare? CAMS?" he was heard asking as he double parked his 735 outside the council chambers. "I'll ****ing have her job if this goes through" he continued, obviously upset.

The council, during a heated discussion, decided that effective immediately, all Council Permits for Sandown will be revoked until Davison agrees to allow unlimited access to the track at any time the council sees fit in order to run their own Street Drag Meetings.

In addition, they Mayor Singleton says that the track can run meetings this year that have already been announced providing that a special drag racing category for Springvale Vs Dandenong Youths is also run on the Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning.

Singleton said "We must get these kids off the road and onto the track where they belong - and Sandown is the ideal place to be able to do this".

It is believed that the Council is now also considering forcing the AJC to incorporate drag racing into their horse race meetings as well.

"Why not?", says Singleton. "After all - they have one horse power races - our kids can certainly show them a thing or two with their multi-horsepower cars. It's about time they starte using jockeys that know what a starter motor is instead of wearing all that pansy-silk gear they wear. They need to smell the rubber!"

Davison wasn't available for comment after the council meeting - apparently his 735 was towed away and, wgilst he wasn't seen coming out of the chamber, the ambulance that rolled up just before the meeting finished was seen to be taking away on a stretcher someone from the council chamber yelling 'You get that ***ing needle out of my ***ing arm - and leabe that ******* nipple ring alone!"

Council have also annonuced that they will monitor the Easternat to be held at Sandown in two weeks time very closely - Singleton muttered something about it being a cash-cow for the council!

Are you serious racetime? TC would be happy with that, it's half way to a state government running the track and he wont have to carry on with Davo. "GOD SAVE SANDOWN" PLEEEEEASE.

- nah - not you - the medico's!

I am hearing of more and more people that read these two releases - and only thought one was an April Fool!

Guess we will have to wait until 2pm Sunday to hear what TC has to say about China...
