Edgardo Fernández became the new Súper TC2000 director. 2019 cars will have less downforce, and in 2020 engines will be replaced with the intention of having turbos.

DTA Racing with FIAT next season.
Drivers: Mariano Werner, Fabián Yannantuoni and MatÃ*as Muñoz Marchesi. Does this mean Peugeot has left STC2000? |

It sounds like it's related to the focus on environmentally friendly initiatives, but I doubt so.

The Turismo Nacional has some venues announced: February 24: La Pedrera March 24: La Pampa April 21: El Villicum May 12: Neuquén June 2: San Jorge (if the repaving is finished) Venues under discussion are Termas de RÃ*o Hondo, San Nicolás, Rosario, Viedma, La Plata, and BahÃ*a Blanca. They want to do a two-driver race, but not at the Gálvez, which is too expensive to rent. |

Is it possible to replace 420hp V8 with a TCR engine without any reliability concerns? And, yes, the reason for the change is very interesting. Do the organisers believe themselves when they are talking about "technologies which can be brought from racing to road cars" (if I've translated some news correctly)? There's no connection between manufacturers and the engine itself if I'm not mistaken. Besides they are going to make cars less aero loaded. So, more "road car look". I really do not see the point here. Is it interesting to watch street car racing? Besides, they are talking about higher top speeds. I should say it's not a great idea with some serious brake-related crashes from 2018 season.

It's about branding and marketing. Manufacturers want four-cylinder turbos, so they will put them on the racecars.
"Fat cars" look awesome, but race poorly. Less downforce will make races more interesting. |

The Super TC2000 cars use proper road car chassis. But they have rather advanced aerodynamics.

The Autódromo Rosamonte in Posadas had its electrical system vandalized.
http://www.campeones.com.ar/0/nota/index.vnc?id=62543 In TC, Lionel Ugalde will switch from Ford to Torino. In Súper TC2000, the San Juan province government wants two races at El Zonda and El Villicum two weeks apart. In Turismo Nacional, Tomás Urretavizcaya lost the Kia sponsorship In Top Race, Toyota will feature MatÃ*as Rossi and Néstor Girolami. |

The TC had its first race at Viedma this weekend, Ardusso remains competitive and won the final race, with Torino, followed by Ortelli (Chevrolet) and Werner (Ford). Defending champion Canapino (Chevrolet) ended 15th after starting from last row.
Rossi (Ford) didn't race, it's suspended following last year final race incidents (and his protests against ACTC) The first 10: 1. Ardusso (Torino) 2. Ortielli (Chevrolet) 3. Werner (Ford) 4. Pernia (Torino) 5. Urcera (Chevrolet) 6. Di Palma (Dodge) 7. Castellano (Dodge) 8. Spataro (Torino) 9. Trucco (Dodge) 10. Aguirre (Dodge) Being a first race, the balance of the cars seems ok(ish) with some inconsistence for Ford, capturing 3rd place but the next one being the 12th of lambiris, not taking into acount that the (till last year) best car of the brand didn't race. |

The last weekend started the TC Pick Up championship.
There was the arrival of the Fiat Toro, which looked fantastic. Also the incorporation of the model S10 "La Chiva", which are added to those that already raced in 2018: Ford Ranger, VW Amarok, Nissan Frontier and Toyota Hilux. http://www.campeones.com.ar/0/nota/index.vnc?id=63427 http://www.campeones.com.ar/0/nota/index.vnc?id=63473 |

The TC Pickups race on the same weekends that the Súper TC2000. That's why Chevrolet doesn't allow their brand on it.
They got Mazzacane, Ortelli and Pato Silva, the rest of the grid is rather unremarkable. - o - Super TC2000 entries: http://www.campeones.com.ar/0/nota/index.vnc?id=63518 Super TC2000 photos: http://www.campeones.com.ar/0/nota/index.vnc?id=63523 Toyota switched fuel-oil sponsors from Axion / Mobil to YPF. |

So, watching the first STC2000 race with the turbo engines, i will miss the music of the radicals.
The launch control is still messy and various car had problems (Rossi, Werner, Llaver) The Hondas have chasis desing woes (admited by the team principal Rosso) and currently are the weaker car The Renaults are still the dominant car it seems. The Toyotas are a small step behind (in this race at least) but fast. The rest are in the same ballpark, the new aero formula + engine seems balanced About the aero, the Citroens are the only ones with (big)sideplates in the rear wings, all the others are really simple |
