Would be interesting to see Mr Cochrane prove such numbers. He and the organisation have a bit of a habit of blowing up numbers.

Wilson tops early practice following record-breaking day "In what could only be described as ideal racing conditions the 2007 Surfers Paradise Lexmark Indy has opened with a record breaking crowd. The previous best figure for a Thursday was set back in 2005 when 56,786 fans strode through the gates. Yesterday’s bumper crowd of 56,867 eclipsed the old figure by just 81 spectators but was up by 712 from last year’s first-day numbers." Not sure I would be changing too much, if crowds continue to grow. |
