The Danish Toyota effort never had the blessing from the factory. Does Geipel?

Hopefully they will show some interest when is starts performing! Geipel are leading the Procar championship with a Corolla.. Similar size car and power. It may even fall flat.. Who knows? Lets wait and see. |

But in any case it's great that we will get 1 more carbrand into WTCC. A TCC should have about 10 brands to really get the right feeling IMO. |

The car looks nice but I don't think Toyota is or will be involved.

Auris isn't FIA homologated... (nor is/was the Corolla).

The current Geipel Toyota Corolla is indeed national homologated and not able to score points in WTCC.

And what about S-2000 rally Auris? Isn't it homologated? May have many parts to be used in racing S-2000...

They can be a nice sparring partner for the lada's. I guess they can put about the same amount of effort in their project.

If you look closely the spoiler is too high to be mounted on a boot lid! So it must be a Hatchbag! |

If this was a full factory-backed entry into the WTCC then i would be excited but this is just another two cars entering the WTCC meh.
That said i hope they are competitive and one day we see a factory-backed toyota team. |

the geipel famaily are toyota dealers,so they are directly connected to toyota. and racing in the wttcc this year to test competivity with a veiw to 2009, sounds good to me!Apparently there was a comparison test with the dtcc laccetti and there was very little in it!

In Europe hatchbacks are more populair than saloons so it's logicial they race these type of cars.

Must be similar in size to the Team Halfords Civic and the Volvo C30 in Sweden?
