Be there
Hi All
We'll be there but in Racing guise again. Nina will be running in the MR2 Challenge. So look out for the green car. She'll be at the back I would think as she as never driven Brands before Any tips gladly accepted!!! All fellow marshals welcome to come over and have a chat with us in the paddock. |

So half are in A.B and most of the rest are racing, apart from 1 who can't get there. I could have a lonely day on Sunday!

If you mean A.D. wfm, spare athought for those trying to get enough marshals for the WHT next weekend. We've only lost Bryan and a few others of the advance party.
I'll be there - you wanna do some digging for me again? (tho' it does seem to have traumatised you for the majority of this season ) |

I don't think I could ever got through that again! Only if you remind me not to dig trenches under Formula Vee cars looking for towing eyes |

Yeah, tell me about it,
some dreadful (non)observance of double yellow flags, as seems to be the norm all too often. 5 reports I did about overtaking between the double yellow and the snatches in progress. Never mind slowing, or not losing control & spinning (due to your engine cutting out ...right..) I hope the 2 board members recover from the trauma Brands has inflicted on them. Nina did'nt look too happy staring directly at us down on 4a, whilst I'll let the Flying Muppett tell his own story should he wish to. |

When she spun at Paddock Hill in the first race I guess? Yes - she really didn't have a good meeting. She isn't very happy in the rain (though I don't know why as she seems to have reasonable car control). Her biggest problem was that she was ill - a pretty bad stomach upset. Having never driven Brands before she was taken completely by surprise at the drop down Paddock Hill and said it was like a Roller Coaster and was churning her already sensitive stomach. She surprised herself in not qualifying last. Just before the first race she told me she felt really sick and nausious but would give it a go. Of course she spun at Paddock Hill - but she is not entirely sure why but I have a great in car vid of you boys across the track!! I'll post it on Vimeo later. The car stalled and wouldn't restart which is why she was not happy - was about to ditch it when it started. Then the reds came out and she came across the accident on the last corner. At this point she also thought she was going to throw up in her helmet, not good - so she came in - a wise choice. She felt marginally better for the second race - but not nearly 100% so ended up circulating at the back (not entirely unusual) but a whole 30 secs behind the next car. She couldn't give it 100% as she said every time she dropped down Paddock or took a bend she thought her stomach was going to turn itself inside out - so not a good day for us. Shame but I guess they do happen! We both liked the circuit though

Thank you so so much to everyone at the circuit yesterday; not only those at the scene who responded brilliantly, but also to well-wishers afterwards in the paddock and the Kentagon as well (liquid pain killers were prescribed...) I'm not quite sure what happened, but I definitely did it all by myself. I seem to remember hitting the kerbing at the apex, then drifting slightly wide, and then suddenly the car was sliding, and I was looking at tyre wall. I remember thinking a) this is going to be expensive, you ****, and then b) oh **** this is going to hurt and then there was an almighty bang and all the lights went out for a bit. I remember opening the door, and trying to kill the master switch (marshals instincts!) but it wouldn't turn, then everyone was on scene. I entered into this racing lark knowing full well that it had the potential to go horribly wrong like this, but you never expect it will be you! As for the flag signals, the ones I saw in the VAG and GTI races were great - fantastic 'blue-ing' in the VAG race. I was following the GTI that went off at Paddock after another had rolled; his engine cut out mid corner (dodgy electrics) which is why he lost it - it doesn't make it much better but that was under a stationary yellow... Thanks again guys... |
