I read in the Murph/Abu Dhabi article on speedcafe that Murphs first hit out in the Castrol VE will be Feb 9th at QR..has the original test date changed, or will he be hitting the track a day earlier in a private session? Also, with all the drama's with QR at the moment has it actually been confirmed that the test will take place there at all?

Need to know..I'd like to put my leave form in soon!

I saw something the other day when Roland Dane mentioned 888 were testing on the 9th of Feb and I thought that the article might have just mucked up the date. Maybe there is a date change.

Can anyone confirm?

9th February has been mentioned in more than one place as the QR date... its 4 weeks from today actually...

Presumably it will be confirmed closer to the time

Last year several teams tested at Winton on the day after the Charity Test Day as I thing did the Qld based teams at QR.

It's only a few weeks now until the official V8 Supercar tests. Some news relating to from the news this week:

Queensland test will take place as scheduled on February 9. None of the recent controversy, including the lack of a CAMS licence, is in any way a problem for testing.

HRT and Walkinshaw Racing however will be absent from the Winton test on February 8. It's their turn to be the Victorian team to board an international cargo plane in Brisbane so they will test a week earlier on February 1.

Sure to be a disappointment to those Victorian fans taking the day off work to attend.

Kinda dissapointing HRT and WR wont be there.

I was/am planning a day off to go down to Winton and have a look.

Anyone know what kind of numbers may be turning up on the day ? (in the way of cars that is)

Is HRT definately not attending or are they just having a separate test.

Remember several teams tested at Winton on the next day after the public day last year and not under the gaze of several thousand spectators or media.......

After all the Qld based teams aren't testing at QR until Wednesday and this would give HRT & WR enough time to test on Monday and pack up and head up the highway to Brisvegas in time to catch the plane with the Qld teams!!

Apparently not. They have to partially dismantle the cars for the trip. HRT/WR asked for and received special dispensation from VESA to hold their test one week early separate from everybody else in order to have time to pack and prepare for the drive to Queensland.

So no, they definately won't be there on Feb 8.

You should see Tony D'Alberto (and Shane Price), Mark Winterbottom, Steven Richards, Paul Dumbrell, Todd Kelly, Rick Kelly, Jason Bargwanna, Jason Richards, Jason Bright, Daniel Gaunt, Lee Holdsworth, Michael Caruso, presumably Karl Reindler, whomever gets KR #11 and a few Fujitsu Series cars.

Isn't this one of the four allocated test days?
If so you wouldn't throw it away by not attending or as in HRTs case getting a dispensation.
Qld test is the Tuesday not Wednesday.
Does make you wonder why the Qld teams can do it but not HRT

Come on Falc. HRT can't get from Melb to Brisbane in time if they test yesterday but T8 can test Friday and still be ready to ship!

But if a car ends up in the wall they may be in a bit of strife, containers have to be packed on Saturday as I understand.

Take it up with VESA, they gave the Walky teams the leave pass.
