dougcross70's should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Tockwith Rallycross Track Yorkshire

I think from the attached news item that Tockwith motorsports venue near York is now a non starter as regards rallycross and now it seems for most other forms of Autosport as well.

It makes me laugh how the local resident can complain about the 'noise, noise and more noise' over the last decade from the racetrack.

It's a racetrack, what do you expect from it regarding noise? Whispering?

The report then needs to be changed from race track to test circuit / driving school / karting facility then.

The airfield's been in use for driver training and as an industrial estate for well over 20 years. The karting's been there for well over 10 years, so I don't see the relevance of any complaint on that front. If it was an issue then they would have shut it down years ago.

I think the problems centre around the new circuit that was put in over the last 18 months. Although slightly further away from the housing than the kart track it's still pretty close and I did wonder how they had got away with it. The track is too short and under developed to be a serious motorsport venue. But it certainly has potential for sprints and rallycross.

As is usually the case it's the track days and testing that seem to be the source of a lot of compliants, don't know if this is possible the problem here? Shame they've not managed to get rallycross going there as it's only 20 mins from me. Would have been good for some CDMC meetings. But I did think that the noise issue would be a problem from the outset.
