So that photo that was around a couple of weeks ago was just the falcon with the VE panels on one side. Thanks for confirming it.

Must say, looks nice, and very similar to the ST

But question is, who will be out on track first with top drivers?....and i think we all know the answer to that.

One other question, what tyre package will be used with these new BNT's? i know they are 18"s but what width/profile etc will they be? i.e will they be undertyred like the current car?

Either way you look at it, what they have managed to achieve in Hamilton is great, and i do like the whole 'kiwi' thing....i just wish this had happened 2 years ago (when it was overdue).

I will continue to support ST and their series, as to me this is forward and brave thinking(although i hate the new lack-of larry bar!), but i will watch, with interest, the developments of the new BNT's

Indeed. I just don't know how they can run both the new and old cars together as they're kinda night and day.

well there's always been a speed difference when a new model is introduced to the class. the most obvious thing to do is to split them in to two groups... similar to what is done in the production class, CMC, GTNZR, etc, etc

The eyecrometer says that the new NZV8 car is on 18" rims, and was shown with Dunlop tyres, so probably safe to assume that deal/relationship will continue into the new cars? Maybe "Mr X" can tell us more regarding widths/profiles etc? Although tyre brand may not yet be confirmed the new car will have been built around a particular wheel size so that should now be set in stone. But yeah, the old cars were certainly undertyred and looked a bit odd to me with a small diameter tyre inside that large wheelarch.

The new V8ST has been seen testing on Michelins. Now no one is going to argue that the Michelin is not a great tyre, but at nearly $900 a pop the tyre bills for the year will certainly be up there. If we said 6x tyres per round thats $5400 for tyres alone per round.

Why go all the smaller tyre ( height ) ? Everyone else seemed to a going taller ?

I am informed that a tyre deal will be announced soon for the V8ST, and their tyres will be a much more "favourable" price than $900 too
