Have you noticed the deliberate mistake on the timetable?
As in the date! |

Apparently only 4 entered (from other sources) so the organisers canned it.

Still looking forward to it even if the organisers can't persuade the F1 owners to use the cars as they should be used.
Just thinking about the figures, 12 teams each year, minimum 3 cars per team (more like 10), started 1950, that's 62 years x 12 teams x 3 cars per team = 2232 formula one cars (minimum) have been built. Surely a couple of dozen could have been found. Oh well, As I don't own one I'm not really in a position to comment so I'll shut up eh? (although if someone wants to pop one round I will get it to the grid) |

From what I heard is that the HFO drivers can only do so many meetings in the UK and running this weekend would have taken them over the days now that they are supporting BGP.
Apparently there are 34 for the GP support so should be worth the wait! |

Was coming for the wekend but a hospital procedure today requires me to rest for 2 days. Pity because it looks a good line up despite the absence of Historic F1s. Might make come for the day on Sunday if I feel OK as I gather numbers are low due to FOS.

Ever wondered what a marshals briefing looks like from up above? No? Never mind, see if you can find yourself...

Interesting weekend. Mostly enjoyable but as usual for HSCC an over-optomistic timetable. This kind of arrangement suits nobody. Marshals kept on post right to the curfew both days without a lunchbreak. Competitors short changed with curtailed races both days.
HSCC needs to respect all parties involved. Don't even publish a lunch break if you are going to insist on marshals remaining on post. Spoken with Grahame White about this several times but message doesn't get home. Maybe one of the reasons why there was a relatively low turnout. Might be lower still if HSCC continue in the current way of doing things. Best memories of the weekend - Michael Lyons awesome performance in Derek Bell Trophy Lapped all but second place man on Sunday. Martin Stretton and Martin O'Connell utterly thrashing the F2 opposition on Sunday afternoon. Wet/Dry/Wet/Dry/Wet/Dry???? |

I was only there on Sunday.
I think your being a bit harsh, nobody can predict what happened in the Formula Ford race, which coursed a long delay. I also think it should be pointed out that the curfew at Brands on both days is 6.30pm which in my view is not late. The one thing about marshalling at Brands is that you know you will not be later than that. I think if your the sort of person who wants to go earlier, If you go there thinking that we Finnish at 6.30 and then get away early then that's a bonus And just to add I enjoyed my day and will go again. |

Some really good racing and some great cars, the Brands weather throwing a little something in the mix too.
The trick with breaks seems to be not to plan to leave the post for lunch, there was plenty of time to have a sit down and something to eat, pity that the lunch break was spent worrying about the people up at post 13, I understand that all involved are ok and I'm sure that we would all like to thank the assistance of the Kent Air Ambulance (which is always a salutary sight, but even more so when it lands right in front of you) |

Was a great weekend. Enjoyed both sat an Sunday. As for the timetable, don't think it could be helped on the Sunday. Saturday was on post 6. We just rotated break. Was only 3 of us on post anyway. Sunday was on post 19, another great day with Paul, Mark an the wife. Thoughts go out to the two drivers in the 'big' accident by 13a. Speedy recovery I hope!!!!
Will def do this event again. |

Thanks to the team on P9 on Saturday (Chris, Chris) and Sunday (Chris, Chris, Katie) for a great weekend.
Interesting weather with the wind/rain/sun leading to one of those coat on/off/on/off situations. Some excellent racing with the occasional rather interesting line being taken as they headed out onto the GP circuit. See folks again soon Dave |

John Crowell update; accident at Brands 1 st July.
I have contacted Neil Fowler Motorsport who run Johns car, today (Monday morning 2 July) and he has been in contact with the Hospital where John was taken. This is the latest on Johns comeback to racing health. John has a broken arm/wrist, cut on head and cut on his cheek (it is thought possible he MAY have lost his helmet during the crash...?) and should be in for next 5-6 days. Thanks for your thoughts and especially your brilliant and solid assistance. We can't thank you enough. John and I were having the best racing we could ask for and unfortunately the slightest error of judgement led to a small 'kiss' between John and I and this is how it ended up. Here's a lesson to give a little more space between fighting friends! I'm sure he and his family are in all our thoughts and we wish him a speedy recovery. We have had a trouble-free run for a couple of years apologies if the wonder that was Brands GP went to our heads... Dick Dixon car 27 |
