Not the same Andy Neate that confirmed he would be at Oulton Park??

The third NGTC Focus should look stunning in Black.

The very same. I feel that Andy will feel like he has to turn up at Croft just to save face even if they aren't really ready.

It's not finished! You could see by looking in and around the car on Sunday that a lot of the finishing touches needed to be applied in and around the cockpit. It also looked like a reasonable amount of wiring was left to be completed as well. There was safety equipment missing, including the onboard fire extinguisher.

well shouldn't they be using it as a practice session before summer break ?

I can't understand why spending money on a track test session when entries fees have been already paid and can use the meetings for testing

for example if he doesn't want to risk the car he could just use the race as testing session by just starting from the pits....

I see Andy Neate's been trashing Motorbase on twitter. Going to cause problems for certain Neate defenders on here and elsewhere that one isn't it...

Yeah.... I bet the head honchos at Motorbase are really kakking themselves with fear at the prospect of being slagged off by someone who enjoys the level of respect in the International motor racing community of Andy Neate.

True - but it's a dangerous game to be playing when you haven't even hit the track yet with your own effort.......

I'm presuming something must have been said for him to come out with that.

Good choice.

But I thought Liam was unavailable because (according to posts above) his wife was due to give birth this weekend? Why are btcc.net etc. wheeling out the old "business commitments" excuse? I can just about accept it when the excuse is used as a euphemism for "the sponsor didn't pay up", but if there's a genuine reason why not say so...

Latest installment of the best 'behind the scenes' team video series ever (probably) is out, in case anyone missed it yesterday:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YAXC-LMVRE0

I know it's Oulton-related and so technically off topic a bit, but I just want to be the latest to express how much I love these videos. I look forward to them almost as much as the next round of races (I said almost). Heartbreaking to see Dan bullied on track like that and eventually having to DNF race three despite a good starting position.

Here's to some better luck this weekend, eh?

Being overtaken by faster drivers is not being 'bullied' though. Some may have rubbed him up, but not all of them.

It's a good video. Not quite as good as Tom Coronel's, but still good.

He sets the benchmark in my opinion.

Any word on Neate getting the car out for a shakedown before heading North?

Here is a question: Are there any teams currently building NGTC's cars that they don't intend to race till 2014? ( I mean physically building, not we're thinking about it)

Warren Scott, although if they can get their Passat done before the end of this season they would run it instead of the S2000 Leon.

You will be totally surprised to hear that Mr Neate and his Cruze will not be competing at Croft this weekend..

They are Team 48 all over again aren't they? Why didn't they just admit they'd only be able to make the second half of the season?

Once they hadn't run at the first meeting, they said they wanted to an extended amount of testing before making a race appearance.

Any professional team will want to have done at least 3-4 weeks running with a car before racing, unless they are in a situation like Dynamics in 2007, 888 in 2012 and WSR this year where its just a case of making the first round come-what-may.

Agreed, but Mr Morgan did seem a little impatient and pushy. Haven't seen Mr Coronel's videos, will check them out, thanks.
