BMW E21 rally cars

I need to find period proof of BMW E21s in rallying, preferably with M12 engines as used in the touring cars. Can anyone help with period magazine articles, photographs etc.?

Blimey, I cannot recall ever seeing them or even reading about them.

Surely such a car/engine combo would only ever have seen the roads of the Monte Carlo rally, Tour De Corse or maybe guesting on either Belgian or German tarmac events?

323, though. OK, the latter link just shows a model, but presumably if someone has gone to the trouble of building a model of the car in rally trim, then the actual car existed on the Boucles de Spa??!!
