The new street race is a no-show, as expected... |

What happened with Sturup? Why there's no races in Norway or Denmark?

Norway and Denmark is simply cause the teams have too small budgets right now, as evident that calendar once again only has 7 weekends. In a perfect world they should go to Rudskogen in Norway, Copenhagen street circuit in Denmark (needs big improvements though), and Ahvinesto in Finland. That would be a minimum to call it a Scandinavian Championship. Still doubtful though that any teams from Denmark, Norway and Finland would join in, and as said some existing teams would probably drop out or atleast loose the least funded cars. |

Dacia Dealer Team has confirmed their entry to the 2016 Scandinavian Touring Car Championship with driver Mattias Andersson.
I think that if STCC would visit Finland in the future, so the track should be Kymi Ring. |

Would be a good boost both for STCC and TCR, but before STCC can go to TCR regs there really needs to be cars available that is not only SEAT, question is when the time is right.
The writing was on the wall really when WCR announced JAS Hondas for TCR this season, you can guarantee they are pushing hard for TCR in STCC. The SolutionF cars has served well over the past years when there was no other good option available. In 2017 the cars will be in their 6th season, some more battered and bruised then others, good time to swith them out! |

With Volvo Cyan Racing shifting to WTCC next year, their two Volvo cars in STCC will be run by WCR! This means no BMW's for WCR, hope some other team can pick them up.
This means we effectively loose one of the big teams next year... |

a race at Alastaro would be better for STCC.
even the WTCC in its best days couldn't get a street race in Helsinki. |

The track is created every year over one weekend. The rest of the year its a horse racing track. I think Sweden is the biggest country when it comes to "Harness Racing".
