BTCC 2018 - Silverstone - Rounds 25, 26, 27
Penultimate round of the year. Last year's results -
PP - Goff R1 - Ingram R2 - Goff R3 - Neal Driver changes include Ethan Hammerton replacing Caine / Boardley at HARD, and Josh Caygill replacing Boardman / Geddie at AmD. Turkington will need a bad weekend here, otherwise the title is his - and it may well happen given the BMW's track record at Silverstone. |

Also, a picture on the BTCC's Twitter feed shows the Collard BMW this morning still with Ricky's number, so it's looking likely that he'll be in again in place of Rob.
And finally, Tony Gilham is promising exciting news on the Friday... |

I would be glad to see Ricky in for the old man again, big fan of Rob's but he hasnt seemed right at all this year, time and injuries are catching up I think, I wouldnt want him to bow out in this way but Ricky is going to be perfectly capable long term
More exciting news from Tony Gilham? well it cant be a driver again guessing some car updates. Id like to see them have a good weekend, it looked like they had turned a corner at Rockingham, the wet at Knockhill didnt really show us anything and the car has never suited the track anyway. As for AMD, Another weekend with 1 car coasting round at the back with extra ballast and a driver who isnt up to speed with the car, that said the MG has always gone quite well here so Butcher may spring a surprise in what seems to be the cars penultimate outing |

Comfirmation that Ricky Collard will continue -
"As points leader, Colin must carry the maximum 75kg success ballast this weekend. This makes his BMW the heaviest car in the field through practice, qualifying and the opening race. Colin’s team-mate will be BMW Motorsport Junior Ricky Collard, who drives for a third straight event as father Rob continues to recover from a concussion sustained at Snetterton in July." |

I reckon Turkington will have a shocker and it’ll be a 4 way fight at Brands.
134 points still available, it’ll only take a DNF to stir things up. |

Coming into this weekend fully expecting Lewis Hamilton to sweep all three BTCC races, then cruise to victory at Singapore, and then somehow steal the IndyCar title from Scott Dixon at Sonoma. It'll suck.
Jesting aside, I still feel Ingram's in a strong position if he can nail qualifying and if his alternator lasts the distance. He'd still be roughly level with Turks had he not had those DNFs at Snetterton and Rockingham. |

Snetterton he only really scored the race 3 , and 1 point in race 1 so maybe this bad luck balances out a bit during season |

That Toyota has not been anything like as reliable as it needs to be on more than one occasion; yes Silverstone qualy is unlikely to be great for CT, but if that is the case then staying out of trouble in R1 is the name of the game, trying to work forwards in R1 & 2 and hope for a lucky break with the reverse grid draw. It is possible CT could become champion. Personally I hope not, for the simple reason it'll take some of the edge off of the Brands finale.

there would be an edge of who is vice champion
Tingram, Sutton, Jordan , Cook , Chilton , Morgan and Goff all could get that 2nd place and come to think of it, this is the first season in years when a Team Dynamics driver isn't in the title hunt come the finale !!!! |

Even though Turkington wouldn't be undeserving of the title, I'm rooting for Ingram this year. I reckon he has the pace and confidence to put a good programme together at Silverstone but I'll have my fingers and toes crossed that his car doesn't throw any spanner in the works (no pun intended, sorry).

The big news: Sam Tordoff had a spare big pot of pink paint and TG has colour coordinated the VWs with his bobble hat?

HARD news at 4:00. Kind of hoping they'll reveal some exciting plans for 2019, similar to what HMS did last year. Preparing myself to be thoroughly underwhelemd, though!

Goff just put some pictures of him in Ricky Collard’s BMW on Instagram. Not going to read too much into it but it’s a bit odd all the same.
