Not to worry, I'm sure it will be as excellent as ever.

Thanks! Athens and Santorini - Athens is a nice and affordable city to visit. Fairly conventional modern European city, but friendly. Great ancient city, of course. Santorini's decent enough - portrayed as amazing on Instagram - but small and more a place to relax than explore.

Q1 is red flagged with 11 minutes to go, as Stroll goes off into the wall on the start/finish strait.
Edit: This red flag is lasting a long time. Last edited by bjohnsonsmith; 6 Nov 2021 at 20:26. |

Bottas takes pole, followed by Hamilton, Verstappen and Perez. Gasly, Sainz, Ricciardo, Leclerc, Tsunoda and Norris make up the rest of the top ten places.
Looks like Verstappen will have his work cut out. |

Since he lost his Mercedes drive, Bottas seems to be in the best form he has been in for some time. Certainly he has not been this good since 2019. I wonder if Bottas would have been stronger in the past had he not always been fighting for his future, as he has always struck me as a driver who struggles when under pressure. Clearly bringing in Russell is the right move as Russell has far more potential than Bottas, but maybe Mercedes should have given Valtteri longer contracts in the past. Or perhaps it would have made no difference.
Also, that was Valtteri's 19th pole position in Formula 1. He takes the record from Rene Arnoux for most pole positions without a championship. |

It's a fair point. There are drivers who thrive under that kind of threat and those who would benefit from a bit more stability. good job by Bottas and very impressive by both Mercedes to pull back that pace on Red Bull. A lack of class displayed by Verstappen on the radio. When he called Tsunoda a stupid idiot, it wasn't clear if he was calling Tsunoda that, Pérez or perhaps even himself.

Hard to believe this is the first Merc front row lockout all year. Great lap by Bottas, he's been driving better since he's been given the boot. Shame for RBR that Tsunoda ruined the lap for both it's drivers.
Quite a big one from Stroll at the beginning of the session |

They got a front row in Portimao when Bottas was on pole, and at Hungary with Hamilton on pole. (And also a front row in Italy )

Opinion seems to be that Yuki moved out of the Red Bull's way, but Perez distracted himself and just ran wide.....Perez certainly didn't do himself any favours....

Yes, I would agree with that. There’s many an occasion when another car has distracted a driver on a quick lap, just by being there, let alone spinning |

Pretty sure I read something a few minutes ago that said RBR changed the rear wing on Max's car and put Max's old one on Perez' car instead, and Checo felt it drove like a donkey after that.
Problem being I can't find the article now! |

Apparently RBR are short of rear wing parts. Havn't we got 3 back-to-back races coming up?

Brazil is next weekend, followed by Qatar the weekend after that. Then there is a gap of a week, with Saudi on the weekend of the 3rd - 5th December and Abu Dahbi on the 10th - 12th. |

Initially a clean start, three wide into Turn 1 and Verstappen takes the lead. Bottas spins and the SC is out.
