DC v Kimi
Which McLaren driver will come out tops? I think it will be Kimi based on what I've seen of testing.

My vote goes to DC, not completely sold on Kimi yet.

I think DC will be exposed - the car flatters him. I almost changed my mind about DC at Monaco last year, and it was a great shame that he wasn't able to take the fight to MS in the race, but then he went and lost his way in the second part of the season. One of the most impressive features of KR's rookie season was the consistency. Now that Mclaren have publicly given him licence to "give it some" and bend a few cars if necessary i think the Finn will start to fly.

DC for sure!! I'm still not quite convinced that KR is as great as he is being portrayed....time will tell.

Kimi will be fast but David will be consistant. It'll be like 97 when Mika was usaully the fastest but Coulthard was raking in the points

DC should have the advantage in qualifying, but Kimi will be stronger and more consistent in the races and I think will finish higher than DC in the WDC.

I think DC will come out on top in the championship, but by midway through the season Raikkonen will be regularly outpacing him in qualifying and sometimes in races.

I have voted for Kimi, but I'm not writing DC off. He will challenge for the title.

I think too many people are being sold that Kimi is the next Mika Hakkinen, Ayrton Senna or whatever.
He's had one good season at Sauber, nothing THAT spectacular.......... |

I am not a complete believer of Kimi yet, but i have to say that i think DC's gonna have a hard time with Kimi. Given DC's experience and time at Mclaren, even if Kimi is within 10points in the WDC to DC, it's still a shame for DC. He really needs to do much better and flatten Kimi if he wants anybody to take him as a serious WDC contender.
DC has the talents..not as exceptional as Michael or JPM, but he still has it..yet it seems to grow stale, and that his decline in performance over a season is worrying. Kimi would be consistent towards the end of the year in performance and finishes...a real threat. Last edited by Gt_R; 28 Feb 2002 at 09:07. |
