Sato's condition?
At first, he was moving in the cockpit and Heidfeld seemed to be worse off. However, the ammount of time spent stabilizing him by the car is worrysome. It seemed to me that one of the technicians was doing CPR. Heidfeld seemed quite upset. These guys are hardened to their own scares in a spin or an accident, I cannot help but think his reaction was genuine fear for Sato.

Yes that was my first thought EERO. But hopefully we're mistaken.
Hope Sato's OK.... |

No, don't say that.
Let's wait and see if there's any news. |

Eddie J was just seen talking to Sid Watkins then was seen talking to someone and raising his eybrows - I think that's a good sign!

That's good to hear though I've lost interest in the race now - hate it when nasty accidents happens.

Thank god Sato's alright, that was a very nasty one. Again, It just goes to show the strength of modern Grand Prix cars and how far the safety and medical side of F1 has avdvanced massively since the 1960's.
As much as we take the mick out of Sato, You never want to see any driver injured and needing any medical attention, and I still can't beleive that after that one he has No broken bones |

he is still badly concussed , so he may need to rest in hospital for a time..... as peter windsor said , theres still a slight risk of blood clots to the brain after a heavy accident like that , so im going to wait until tomorrow before i relax .

Wonder what caused Heidfeld to go off like that?
I'm not going to go all defensive of the young man, but that did appear to be a brake failure as he didn't scrub off any speed at all. |

It looked like Nick's left front brake disc exploded pitching him into the spin, he shot backwards across the inside of the Remus curve after the restart slamming into the side of Sato's car with his back end first, just missing Montoya. I wonder if Nick will be fit for Monaco?

EJ has just said that Taku had CPR at the scene ....they reckon he only survived because Taku is so small in his size....he actually had half of Heidfelds gearbox lodged into Sato's cockpit...

I saw alot of Carbon dust coming off the front wheels, so it looks like one or both of the discs exploded, therefore the energy that would have gone to the front discs would go to the rear discs in addition to the energy already there, so I reckon that caused the rear wheels to lock.

he's a lucky guy, i really thought for an awful moment that we had lost another driver - but someone so young but when they showed the shot of Sato in the helicopter with eyes open and a wry smile i was very releived. apparently the Prof said that it was the biggest miracle he had ever seen.
i would like to know what exactly happened and how exactly Taku survived. |

It makes you feel sick when accidents like that happen to a driver. , and it makes all the memories from past accidents come to the for front of your mind ...I will just be happy when they release Taku from hospital .

it is really annoying when you have heard so much about the accident and havent seen it for yourself.
Sounds like a very bad accident, hope he is okay, and can recover to full health. Anyone even tell me where there is absolutely and photos on it, videos, or multimedia on the accident, anything will be accepted...im desperate here |
