Unipower GT

I received the following query last night:

I'M VERY INTERESTED IN Le Mans car UNIPOWER CAR #47 WHEEL SIZE. [DNQ 1969 Le Mans, yellow coloured car]
12 ' OR 13' ? I'M NOT SURE.
IF YOU KNOW ABOUT IT. PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

P.S) I 'M RESTORING MY UNIPOWER GT, NOW.

Can anyone help at all?

Can't recall what it looked like but a quick flick thru' a couple of race programmes from '69 shows an 1140cc version entered at a Brands meeting by Graham Goodman (Dvr: Gideon Lloyd) and another 1600cc version of Stanley Robertson.

Darren
The Unipower was designed by Ernie Unger, ex Team Lotus
He is still around and active with Historic Lotus Register.
In period I could not afford a Europa or a Unipower and so bought a (Cox as it was then called), GTM !

Reading thru old Autosports I saw the Unipower advertised.
When first announced the Unipower was fitted with 10 x 4.5J wheelsKevin Whittle

They were quite nice looking cars for the day. As I remember they were fitted for road purpose anyway with a 1275 A-series unit and 10" rims.

Surf 1275 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Sorry for the slight thread revival but as part of some ongoing research if anyone out there has any info on the 1960's racing Unipower GTs such as those of Geoff Mabbs, John Miles, Piers Forrester, Gideon Lloyd, Andrew Hedges, John Blankley, Tom Pettinger or the Harrison/Barell car from Watkins Glen July '69 please get in touch or post here.

Many thanks.

Pete
