Fantasy racedays
Whilst the organising clubs sit down with their diaries and organise next year's events I was wondering what other people's "ideal" race days would be. Without having to worry about rival organisers and clashing dates!! And which circuit you think would be the best for a great day out.
So here's mine: British F3 National Formula Ford Zetec National FF1600 (if it gets off the ground next year) Porsche Cup Renault Clios Formula Saloons TVR Tuscans Mini Miglias Mini Se7ens + if there's room the new Mini Cooper racing series 2 day meetings - qualifying Saturday, racing Sunday from 10AM Ideal circuit: Castle Combe or Brands Hatch (Indy) So what do you think?? Your ideas please. |

Clios
Superlights 2CVs Northern Sports/Saloons Formula Vee Mini Se7ens British GTs TVR Tuscans Porsche 924s A bit sports/saloon orientated I know, but it sounds good. Perhaps 2 days at Knockhill or Donington. Speaking of Donington, wouldn't ASCAR be good there? |

Ford Saloon Double Header (might be a bit biased!)
Mighty Minis Soouper Coupes Clios Formula Saloons Caterham Superlights TVR Tuscans Brands is probably the best location for race both in terms of circuit challenge but it's also the nearest to me! (selfish I know!) |

Having watched the Aussie racing on motors tv I must agree with Brisbane Dave's stuff...Ian, Global Lights...are you sure?...grids are ok sometimes but there are only 3 quick drivers in that! TVR's are nothing to what they used to be, in fact many of the rounds I saw were pretty tame. Just give me a day of one make racing finnishing with a decent heavy contact Banger race!!

Barry,
I was trying to think of a half-decent sports car championship that wasn't Caterhams. It's better than Radicals, give it that. |

cooor blimey.... excellent question!!
For the circuit I'd have the challenge of Knockhill, the location of Brands Hatch and the local atmosphere found at Mondello. As for clases racing. hmmm.... BTCC vs ETCC Challenge (x2) Aussie V8s (x2) British Clios Euro V6 Clios Caterham Superlights Mighty Minis Mini Se7ens Mini Miglia Formula Saloons Super Coupes BTRDA Trucks (!) mmmmm.... I'm dreaming now! |

How about......
For starters, 1...Porsches 2...F3 both . 3...Formula saloons 4...Aust V8 5...F Renault V6 6...F3000 7...Jap GT. As for tracks, has to be Brands GP, with Oulton a very very close second..... |

Good choices but most meetings would have to be at least a week long to account for all the race stops!!!

Great to see many have mentioned the Mighty Mini's...seems that next year they will have more than full grids. The Super series should see more cars as well. Even with a handfull of cars this year the Supers put on some great shows. At present the amount of rounds and the venues they will visit are being talked about hopefully at any moment...THEY WILL BE BACK!
