Marshals Shortage this coming weekend?
Given the number of meetings that are scheduled for this bank holdiday weekend, are some of them going to suffer from a shortage of marshals?
The reason for asking the question is the fact that the BRDC seem to be sending out passes to marshals on a random basis in the hope of getting some extra bodies. As this is one of the main meetings of the weekend - are some of the lesser meeting going to suffer. Anyone (chief marshals for example) got any figures for their expected manning levels? |

Rumour has it that the BRDC are offering some reasonable contribution to expenses for the F3 etc meeting at Silverstone as numbers are believed to be very low... (marshals that is - not cars in the GT race!)

I've also started to get passes for Silverstone sprints on the stowe circuit - again never volunteered. I think that if you read the smallprint on your instructions it says something like....."We may from time to time send you tickets for meetings that you might not have volunteered for, from carefully selected and reputable clubs - if you do not wish your information to be used in this way....tough"! |

I'm having a lie in on both Saturday and Sunday after a lot of two and three day meetings and I'm taking the opportunity to do non-marshal type things. However, it'll feel strange not getting up early to go to a meeting.
Then on Monday I'm looking forward to the 750 MotorClub meeting at Oulton. |

This is one of the sillier weekends of the year. For instance my "home" tracks are Combe, Thruxton & Gurston Down.
Gurston 24th & 25th British Hillclimb Champs Thruxton 25th & 26th BTCC Combe 26th Spring Bank Holiday Meeting Now all three events I dearly love - which do I go to? (Answer Gurston & Combe leaving me a bit gutted to miss the Touring cars). |

This weekend
I am down to do the Ferrari Festival at Donington.
If as is implied there is a general shortage of marshals this weekend, which will reduce the fun quota and BRSCC do the ususal Donington con trick of "stretching" the timetable to a 19.00 finish, it will be the last meeting I do at Donington for that club. They are V. nice guys but overshadowed by the moneymakers @ HQ. |

Anyone got a contact no. for the 750MC, or will it be too late?
I quite fancy marshalling on Monday...better than sitting around on my arse! |

Not a bank holiday here on Monday but if it's any consolation, I'll be at Kirkistown on Saturday and Mondello on Sunday.
Our bank holiday is the week after |

The 750MC are a big-shot club though aren't they? I'm not registered with anyone or anything...
I've just noticed the Wirral 100 have a meet on at Anglesey... |
