Thought I might share this pic with everyone here of the "10 Tenths" Mighty-Mini of Chris Yates, taken at this weekends Rockingham Double Header.
Full sized uncompressed pic (1600x1200 @ 327k) is HERE > Last edited by MaxxUK; 18 Aug 2003 at 11:47. |

Nice pic, Maxx
I'm hoping the pics I took of you in the Fiesta from the pit garage roof turn out as well |

Chris, I thought you were racing the Maestro at Rockingham this weekend - Oh well, you look happy anyway - how did you get on?

The Maestro is out next weekend at Snetterton. The Mini did pretty well at Rockingham, but now needs a new exhaust possibly (after going for a trip across the chicane!) and something doing to the coolant system, because the water temp reached over 120' C on Saturday
I qualified 11th (out of about 22) - not bad for the first visit to the Rock for 2 years, and with no testing. Just a shame I started the race in neutral ! I thought I was in gear, but the gearstick was not all the way in. Anyway, that made me flat last by turn 1, but after a bit of aggressive overtaking (no contact though), and dodging other people's mistakes, I was up to 10th by halfway round the lap. I eventually finished 9th after a long battle with the lead pack. That was a good comeback, but in race 2 - Declan McDonnell won from last place on the grid! I started 9th (from race 1)and got involved in a 6 car battle for 7th place. The leaders broke away as we were holding each other up. Those 6 places were still a bit of a lottery as we entered the last corner, and I eventually finished 12th, 1/1000th of a sec behind 11th place, and a further 3/10ths off 10th - there was a 3-way photo finish at the line! Oddly, the guy who finished 10th was punted from behind by the 11th place man after he missed a gear at the final corner, and that bump probably accounted for the 3/10ths And now my neck is sore from all those left-hand bends |

Isn't Voggie the cutest little mini EVER???
I didn't get to see Voggie race (I was busy cheering on Stinky at Silverstone) but Voggie came to Tim's to visit on Saturday evening and we all took him to Mini in the Park on Sunday So I got to see him then. |

Obviously taken before racing, the smile, the unblemished bodywork, the colour...the car didn't look bad either!

Chris - my Peril said that I had to let you know that he noticed that Voggie's 10-10ths sticker on the driver's side is wearing away. He says that Voggie needs a new one.

Hi Christine. I have a Peril too. He's a funky bright yellow MG-ZR. He was at Silverstone - ask your brother about my car. He's seen it.

Oh no, TWO Yellow Perils - I have enough trouble with having one in my life ;-) Sounds funky though - you'll have to show him to me next time you're around. Neil's Peril is a girl apparently. :-) Christine Last edited by Stinky; 20 Aug 2003 at 13:09. |
