RaceTime should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
New V8 Supercar Team To Be Launched On Saturday

Image: http://photos.racetime.com.au/displa...?album=7&pos=0

Queensland’s latest V8 Supercar team will be officially launched as part of the Brisbane Motor Show at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre on Saturday at 12.30pm.

The new Ford team will be based on the Gold Coast and will include former Queensland 500 winner and National Formula Ford Champion, David Besnard as one of its drivers.

The high-profile owner of the team, the team’s sponsors, Besnard’s teammate and the official team colours will all be unveiled on Saturday.

The launch will be conducted in the foyer of the Brisbane Exhibition Centre and members of the public are invited to the unveiling before they head in to look at the show.

Besnard was part of the successful Stone Brothers Racing team in 2001/02 before joining the new Ford Performance Racing (FPR) team last season.

The announcement of FPR being reduced from a three to a two-car team at the last round of the 2003 season left Besnard without a drive and few options.

The development of this new team, which has come together in just over a month, keeps Besnard in a full-time drive and provides the new operation with an experienced driver who has race-winning experience.

“Everything will be revealed on Saturday, but I can say that I am excited about the year ahead,” said Besnard.
“We have a massive job ahead of us, but we are starting to gather some of the right people around us.
“The person who is behind the team is one of the most motivated people I know and what he and his team of people have managed to achieve in the last few weeks is just incredible.
“I hope everyone comes out to have a look at our new car on Saturday.”

The new team will be launched on Saturday at 12.30pm and the car will be in place to be viewed by the fans and public until 10pm on Saturday night.

Good on him, i'm glad he's still got a drive...

I've only met the guy once but considering it was a few days after he narrowly missed a Bathurst win and was hobbling around on a busted foot he was polite and friendly.
Seemed like a nice enough bloke. With a few less paint swapping episodes and a decent car i think he'll go alright...

Cheers,
Paul...

And this is what I said elsewhere about keeping the sponsor happy.... if the cars are midfield at best, and playing with Speedy at worst... its not hard to get sick of it all
