I would have thought that the G-Force would have made more of an impact, but only three of them are in the top ten in the first session, and four in the second...lets see what qualifying brings.

Wow, I have to be impressed with Greg Ray! I love to root for the little guy, he's kind of like the Minardi of the IRL!
Also Carpenter is doing much better than the firt test at Phoenix last month. Looks like Adrian is getting up to speed, thats good! |

Greg did a very good lap, not sure what he's so upset about but he did back off (apparantly) on his second lap - maybe he had a problem, where he thought he had some more in the car?
But again, YEAAAAAAAAAAH DAN!!! |

Greg made a change to the set up, which cost him a better position...he wanted to take the safe road as far as his team is concered, but the driver in him wanted to go for it..."sometimes it's hard to seperate the owner from the driver"...he said a "high 6 or a low 7" was possible, meaning a top five would have been a realistic possibility...

Very good effort by Wheldon, I think he is due to win a race. Manning came in for some nagative comments in Miami and it will be intersting to see how he does in the early laps.

Yep KB - although BBC Ceefax inexcusably referred to Wheldon as being American.
The Fernandez/SAFR team seems to ahve got its act together progressively over the weekend - Adrian has every chance of a good result, which he deserves considering his late change of series. Rice wasn't as competitive as before, which might not help his chances of keeping the ride fulltime. Dallara/Honda seems to be the package to have this weekend, but at Homestead Toyota were much better in the race, so maybe the same again. Unusual to have such a Noah's Ark look to the front of the grid - 2 AGRs, 2 Penskes and 2 Ganassis line astern. |

Bad start for Fernandez. Looks like the gearbox fell apart and he went behind the wall for repairs, many laps down already.
Lousy coverage by ABC. The basketball game ran 5 minutes long, and when they went to the race it was already 8 laps in. What ever happened to the prerace? Looks like another thin crowd in the stands too. |

Your right about ABC coverage. 5 minutes late, and they were already on lap 8! Ridiculous!
But the crowd looks pretty darn good to me, its hardly thin! |

A pretty good race! Some quick observations:
Kannan totally dominated. AGR was looking very good until Franchitti went out, again! Tough day for Hornish, who was looking good, but a slow spin into the wall ended that. He almost saved it. Minor damage, at least he finished. Unforgivable accident when Franchitti ran into the back of Scheckter though, during yellow. Thats two bad starts for Franchitti now. Good race for Dixon, just didn't have enough for Kanann in the end. Tough day for single car teams, like Down Force had pointed out during practice. Adrian had a very tough intro to the IRL. Better days are coming! Could you imagine a Nascar race where the first 8 laps and the start were cut-off on TV!? It would never happen! ABC needs to do better than that! Good race call though. Oh, and most importantly, I only scored 1 point, in the fantasy picks. There's still hope Down Force! |

At least you scored 5 though with Dixon. I had him for the win, with Franchitti 4th, which is where he was before he closed his eyes and ran into the back of Schecter! Doohhhh! |
