I thought the rules on re-starts had changed?
I was under the impression that if a driver stalls on the grid they no longer do a "restart proceedure" and the cars just carry on and do another warm-up lap. The driver who caused the restart would go to the back?

Well, the procedure's been speeded up, but the rules you suggest have not been applied.

It's better to be safe than sorry, I suppose - who knows what the problems are and how they can be solved when you've got 19 other cars to get going at racing speeds?
Best to call a restart after a few minutes and see what you can do. |
