panoz.lmp1 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Private Sauber Mercedes C9

I read an article that one of the 1988 Sauber Mercedes C9 (Chassis #5) was sold to a private customer. Did someone knows what happended to these car? I canĀ“t remember that i saw a private C9 on an entry list...

I think this was the Noel Del Bello entry. I remember it not starting at Brands one year.

I do remember reading reports that a white C9 had been spotted on the back of an IMSA trailer in the States, but it never raced (in private hands) to my knowledge.

I'm certain del Bello's C8 (apparently chassis #2)-

was the only Sauber-Mercedes to be raced by a customer- he ran it at Le Mans a couple of times around 1987/8, and appeared occasionally at other races- I believe there are C9's in private hands now, but don't know if any have appeared in historic races- possibly in the US?

Sauber's have appeared in the US in Historic Racing the past few years.
