Anyone bought GTR?

I recieved my copy today after ordering from Amazon.de. All I can say is that the game is magnificent!

It's only released in Germany so far, but with a simple Zip-file you can change all menus to English. You won't notice that it is in German from the beginning!

The game play is excellent, the feeling of plowing down on the long straights of Monza in the Saleen S7R is awesome. The sound of almost all the cars are mind boggeling, especially the 550 Maranello and Saleen. Such power!

The gfx is awesome, the physics is awesome... I can keep on like this for a long time!

In my eyes this is, with a few fixes, the best racing game out there today!

Has anyone managed to get a copy from Germany of this new sim.
Tried to order from Amazon de. but seems my credit card is not being recognized.
Have downloaded the press demo version looks good.
I have a League being tested soon to run this sim on line and am desperate to get a copy.

If Ayse likes it ,it must be good.Took a while for me to get used to gt cars after GPL but i like the idea of endurance type racing and the graphics look good in the demo.

Ayse, it's so much more 'complete' than a mod. What makes it work is the data that Simbin have acquired from the teams. It's about as realistic as sims get currently.

I've orderd my copy from Amazon.de, 1-click ordering - had to use a credit card though, as they don't accept Switch/Maestro.

And, yes, it is SO much better than F1C. The sound, the physics, the gfx, well everything is miles ahead...

Indeed you shall have... The online racing is great as well, there is a lag when other people are joining but since no joining is allowed when qualifying and race is on it is not a problem.

You can have really close fights bumper to bumper without any lag problems causing you to spin. I've played online with more than 20 people where many of them didn't have cable connection or such.

Finally ordered a copy from Germany this Morning using E-bay, Got to wait for delivery now.
I managed to swipe a rear wheel the Morgan in the demo and the replay looks quite good sparks everywhere.

You can copy the english language files from the demo.

Anyone else having trouble with the demo?

I've tried it 6 times and so far I've managed a grand total of 2 laps in the Morgan at Spa in arcade.

It just freezes on me. And I can't get out of the game either.

Hmm that's weird. Full game runs fine here, occasional CTD in multiplayer only. Are you running any programmes in the background?

Another thing you could try is to use lower graphics settings. What are your PC specs?

No, I've been a dedicated sim racer too long for that.......

2.2 Ghz P4
512 meg Ram
GeForce 5900XT 128 meg

The demo is a complete dead loss. It freezes almost as soon as I go to any of the menu screens.

So I had a run on Proto C instead. Hadn't realised there was a service pack 2 with those lovely Intrepids!

Perhaos GTR doesn't like my older Nvidia drivers? I use 56.72s becaise I've fopund them spot on for GPL. I'm certainly not changing them for the sake of GTR......
