Champ Car Cannon Ball Run
I was watching this movie and I forgot how much I liked it. Then I got the Idea of a Champ Car Promotional idea. They should start in L.A. and take Route 66 across the country making a huge media circus. Im not talking anything competitive im talking like a 2 week long Parade through the states. Maby going a little over 200 in some places. And They can stop at all The Macdonalds along the way... (Official Fast Food) And they can stop in shopping centers and do a huge promotion gig.

It would have to be on the back of a truck, I assume.

A really fast truck, if it wanted to stay ahead of the cars!

Fly the methanol to places. Or either put it in places before the cars arrive. Planning, you know.

It sounds like a good promotion for CC, but wouldn't it be quite costly?

I think it would make more sense to truck the cars in and do demonstrations.
I think there's a case to be made for marketing to mid-sized cities. Not much of significance happends in a city of 100-500k people. Having a CC promotional event would probably produce some buzz where EVERYONE would know about CC, whereas in a big city probably a very small number of people would know because it wouldn't make the news. Think about that stunt they did in New York, who was aware of it? Perhaps do it in conjunction with McD's make a Wish Foundation, Ronald McDonald House or Newman's Hole in the Wall Camps, get local politicians, contest winners, etc. Last edited by Snrub; 1 Feb 2005 at 22:07. |

What if they dress up Seb like Ronald McDonald and he drives into the different McDonald outlets in his McD's sponsored car of course and does some donuts in the parking lot!?!? Watch those kids (young and old) faces light up!

Is that Canadian winter so harsh that it leads to dillusion. JK but it would be nice to see SB doing donuts in Normal Illinois.

Someone (I elect macdaddy) should send a letter out to CC with some of these ideas. Load em up and let them pick which will work for them. Sorry mac, you're our leader.

They should also take several backroads. Turn it into a low ride-height rally!
