BARC Silverstone-1st October.05
A quick note of thanks to the "small but perfectly formed" Pits and Startline team for your sterling work on Saturday. Also thanks to the team on the bank for clearing up so professionally.
Well done all, on a day of good racing and a sensible finish time so then we had time to watch the Japanese "Drifters" rehearse which was a bonus. |

Thanks also to all those who endured the 1 hour 2CV enduro And a proxy-thanks from the driver of Nr. 34 (Yellow with red roof) to the marshals at Brooklands, after that car did an upside-down pirouette and 3 rolls! Driver is ok, car not so much.

I know it was a bit of a mess but i did pull it as gently as i could out of the gravel,
I dont think it will polish out. Something for the driver to rebuild over the winter months |

The Law of sod worked again. I was the observer @ Brooklands & was standing there with the MSA Steward, commenting on how well the 2CV's were behaving!!!

It was my brother in my husband's car that rolled. Chris Y was sharing my car with me in that race.
I don't think any of the drivers mis-behaved, I think it was a simple case of 10 cars all at once don't fit into Brooklands. As I understand it, someone tapped the rear inside corner of the car as Neil turned in, he half spun into someone else and that's what tiped him into a roll. The car is very seriously damaged so my husband is talking about sharing mine with me next year while deciding whether to scrap or repair his car. My brother is fine and was pleased with how well the medical centre staff treated him. He just has some aches and bruises. If anyone has any pictures of the accident, we would like to see them to try to understand more fully what happened. I have already seen the ones that Maisie has taken. It's already very clear from those pictures how quickly the marshalls responded to the incident. :-) Christine |
