Will FORD ever have him back again?
Ok so.
Now that we've confirmed and been through the unpleasantries of life. I now ask this. Will Ford have Seton back in some capacity? There had better be an in-depth interview with Glenn in AA or MN where they grill him about what happened with Ford and he better respond with more than just "Naturally, obviously, hopefully, Capri". So what do you all think? If he puts in a good effort at Bathurst, would we ever see him in Blue again. Deep down he's got to feel slightly dirty in Red. He's preference would be blue? Right? So what do you all think? (Please don't tell me to get over it. Sensible replies only. This is part of the healing process ok? I don't need to be told I'm a loser who needs to move on, this is a crummy enough experience as it is... so please spare me) |

Is it fair to say 'Ford', or better to say 'Ford team'?

I read here that Mr Seton is looking to use this as a stepping stone (haha) for his career, indicating potentially that he would be looking at a full time ride next year.
Is there one of those available, in the red corner or the blue? In theory, yes there is. But the question you have to ask, is if the driver in question was not picked up for season 2006 or 2007 for the main game in a full time capacity, is there a serious possibility that he shall be picked up by a main series team in 2008? I suspect that the driver in question has to make his own way in the motorsport world again... in his own team, or sourcing a sponsor to bring to a team or both... I would doubt that Ford will give too hoots about Mr Seton if he is successful in the Sandown/Bathurts enduros either.. It was interesting in one of the other threads to read about Allan Moffat not being one of the Ford legends picked up by the factory to be a show pony... BMW seems to have picked Mr Moffat up as an ambassador and attends their drive days and promotional programs... This could be Mr Seton's future.. if he wanted it... but I doubt very much that Ford will be involved in such a thing... It is a shame, but you cant say they didnt have ample opportunity to help already.... |

Isn't Glenn still mentor to the Formula Ford drivers. If so he is still "linked" with Ford.

Yeah I too scoffed at the 'stepping stone' nonsense! I don't think he SERIOUSLY feels he's going to land a fulltime drive in 08 nor do I think he wants one.
He said he's happy to just drive at Bathurst. So then what happens to these stones of his that he's stepping on? Where will these stones propel him? Next to me in the lunatic asylum seeking therapy or. . . ? Last edited by STEVO; 16 Feb 2007 at 03:28. |

Hope for Glenns sake he doesn't do a Skippy Parsons at Bathurst when the pace car's about to come out.

This could just be Fords big plan. Place him at HRT to spy on the goings on and to sabotage their attempts at the enduros

I don't think this is the last we'll be seeing of Seto. Depending on how he goes he could do a few more races in Holdens but I think we'll see him in a Ford again at some stage.

Speaking of the Seton's, did Bo ever drive anything else in the ATCC or just with the blue oval?

Yep, Bo drove a A9X Torana in 1978 and '79.

Maybe old buddy mate Mark will sell HRT to him for $1.
Strage bedfellows that red lot. Makes me wonder what involvement Snappy Tom had in all of this? Quote:

Sorry, I know this post will drive some of you semi-mental, but good on you Glenn. Just make sure that you are in the car at Bathurst for the final stint....and on the job sheet on Saturday night, get all parts under $10 changed.....Supercar part inflation has been a bit cruel since.... |

He looks very natural in that red shirt and surroundings. I am quite surprised, and happy about it. Finally the guy can park his backside in something decent.
You wonder whether if Todd Kelly finds a home elsewhere in 08, will you see Mr Seton in the 2nd HRT car... |

Seaton's days at the front are over. Whats the bet that HRT cross enter him in both 2 and 22 at Bathurst. When they work out his lap times are too slow he will be pushed into 22. Do you really think HRT want to let 888 win again in 08 with a gun driver pair?

Like I said elsewhere the Ford bit was stale and he seemed to lose motivation. Time for change. The glory days were the 1990's. He won races and championships for Ford. Both sides I'm sure benefitted from the partnership, thereby no one owes anyone anything. Time to move on. I think he still has plenty of speed and I think he'll surprise people this year. Lets not forget that old farts Richards and Longhurst won Bathurst not long ago with HRT.

Well, we've all been speaking Loyalty....
HRT from what I've heard has quite a few ex-Gibson staffers. It has Mark Skaife.... Ford may not have shown him any loyalty, but Skaife has, and so have the staffers in HRT. They obviously convinced the right people he was right for the team. This could be considered by Glenneth a homecoming? And heck, let's hope he can repay the loyalty HRT have shown him with a win! |

It's no big deal. Moffat drove Holdens and Mazdas, Brock drove Fords and BMWs. Seto's simply arrived at that stage of his driving career.

Wonder how deep the relationship with Tom is.
Could we see Glen cruising around the bathurst 12hr in a Elfin now that Tom has a considerable stake in the company.... Does not worry me that Glen has taken a ride elsewhere...good for him!, especially if it gets the bathurst monkey off his back. The way the super circus is controlled, my money will definately be on a Skaife/Seton this year.... |
